Pt5858 Issues

Hey guys,

I'm having a bit of an issue, I have been searching if anyone else has this issue I seem I can't find a direct answer. So I installed brand new ETS t3 kit with the 5858 by turbo. Kit and turbo were installed and the turbo ended up going bad and had a lot of oil in my downpipe sent turbo back to precision and everything was rebuilt inside. My issue that I am having is the car is not smoking at idle but when I rev it to 3k rom and let go it smokes blue. Sometimes after driving the car and coming to complete stop it smokes and you smell a nasty smell. Keeping in mind first time the turbo installed I deleted my
Pcv system now I have my pcv system and running radium catch cans and it does not smoke as frequently, but smoke is still there. What can be causing this?

Do I need to run a different oil restrictor? I also have been reading to change the oil line from oil filter to the head?

Thank you in advance?

If you only installed catch cans, that doesn't do anything to alleviate crankcase pressure. You need to actually make the fitting and lines coming off the valve cover larger.

The driver side fitting is -10an, so I would have to make the valve cover to the intake manifold same size?

Did you have a 10an fitting welded to an aluminum valvecover?

Is the hole through the fitting actually the ID 10an should be? They are typically .490-.500.

Also is the turbo journal or ball bearing? PT journal turbos are known to not be reliable.

The 10an fitting just slides into the valve cover and it's being held with silicone. So I should get a 10an fitting that needs to be weld to valve? And shhould
Get another 10an fitting that's fits for the passaneger side as well?

It's a ball bearing turbo, I had to send it out to precision once already because the seals broke. I called precision and they said that it may be to much oil flowing through the turbo and that I should vent my pcv siystem

Well, whether or not you need a different drive side fitting depends on the size of the hole in the fitting.

And, yes, going 10an vent to atmosphere with front/pass side vent location will help.

So I shouldn't run my catch cans to my -10an fitting on my valve and just venting to atmosphere

No. Run the line to the catch can, then have it vent to atmosphere with a filter on it. Like driven fab catch can...

When I had that set up it smoked more then it is now? Or what's the reasoning to running vta versus running it back to the catch can?

Is the catch can line routed back to the intake pipe and intake manifold?
