Confirmed oil leak. Got back under the car and removed undertray and there's oil. Cleaned everything off, ran it, and checked again and there was oil on my manifold studs and pooling under the manifold by the head gasket. Don't know that it could be a head gasket issue as I don't see how the oil would've been able to crawl up onto the manifold. But that's where I found the oil, not sure what I do next.

I'll probably get uv dye and check it, see if I can really poinpoint where it's coming from. I still can't think of what I'll find, no idea how oil would be leaking the way it is.

For sure no smoke out of the exhaust, under accel or decel?

I think there may be more than usual, but it's hard to tell as it smoked a bit out of the exhaust before the oil leak issue. I did a v band turbo kit back in December and it's smoked ever since. Lots of smoke on the dyno, but only gas smell, no oil. Now there's some smoke at lower rpms and very little at idle. Can't tell if there is a real difference and I don't know if it's oil smoke. I smell burning oil but can't tell if I'm just smelling the oil burning in the engine bay or if it's from the exhaust.

What color smoke?
It could be valve seals if smoking under decel. That would explain oil coming from the exh mani gasket. That's my first thought, based on the info given.

It's pretty grey/white. Not sure it quite has the blue tint that oil smoke does, but it may just be mixing with the normal smoke and the blue color is being hidden. Now after asking around some people I know, that's the first time I've heard valve seals, so that's intriguing. Everyone else has said head gasket or has no clue. It has been running fine, would a valve seal make it run poorly or would the smoke be the only indication?

Also there's a significant amount of leaked oil in the engine bay. If it's all leaking from my manifold because of valve seals or rings, wouldn't that mean I also have a huge exhaust leak? Would think it'd need to be a bad leak to let that much oil out of the manifold rather than just smoking it all through the exhaust

You have to know the color of the smoke to use it as a diagnostic tool. If you can't tell, then that leaves the door open to lots of things.
leaking seals won't affect performance until later, when build up begins to affect things sealing properly. Eventually, I would be a problem.
I've never seen enough oil coming through the exh mani to cover an engine bay. You may have more than one problem.
Would not necessarily mean an oil leak. There's a lot of pressure that can force out fluids. Without actually seeing the car, we're all just making guesses at this point. I could be 100% wrong.
The smoke may be from fluids dripping from your exh mani onto hot parts. If you are seeing smoke actually coming from between the mani and head, you need a new exh mani gasket.

again, this is really hard to do online, especially without video or pictures. What I'm imagining may not be what you have going on at all LOL

probably just a minor oil leak hitting the manifold every once in awhile
