Priority Bolt On Improvements
Priority Bolt On Improvements
Hi Guys! I am researching the modifications to do to my future evo. From my knowledge, these are the bolt on mods:
If you were to install these mods in a certain order, what would it be?
Could someone prioritize this list, ranging from most important, or greatest improvement, to the least? I'm going to guess:
- Cat-Back Exhaust
- Downpipe
- Intake System
- Intercooler Kit
- Test Pipe
- Cobb AccessPort V3
- Grimmspeed 3 Port Evo X Boost Control Solenoid

Intake, Test Pipe, and 3 port are the three mods that make the most power. FMIC and Cat-back is after that. You’ll barely see anything from a downpipe on these cars unless its a 02 dump. Cobb APv3 isn’t really necessary (unless you really want one), get an open source tune instead.

Catback, test pipe, 3 port boost controller. In that order, intake isn't necessarily huge on gains, if any. More so for that wooshing noise. Keep in mind once you install a 3 port boost controller, you should probably get the car tuned or install all your other mods then tune it or you'll over boost.
Greatest differences that I noticed, was the test pipe and 3 port.
