My big turbo build
Mine would misfire with my PT5858 once over 24psi until I did that.
Which shops are you referring to here? The unresponsive shop and the helpful one.
Thanks, changing oil tomorrow and doing a compression check. I'll check gap on them while they're out and set it straight if not. Would hope they were checked at the shop, but inspect what you expect I guess.
I don't want to go throwing reputations of shops around but CBRD is just extremely difficult to get ahold of. Sometimes. Other times (like when I was broken down on the side of the road the very next day after I picked the car up) CBRD was great and responsive well beyond the prescribed shop hours and on people's personal time. Just seems like if the car isn't in the shop at the moment or there's what is determined to be an emergency, it's back burnered. May very well be the lack of support staff at the shop. But I waited three weeks of calling, texting, etc and eventually just gave up on trying to talk to someone.
I called AMS about the issue and they walked me through all kinds of trouble shooting without me even having done any business with them in an attempt to help.

I had a similar experience. I was texting and emailing CBRD, cause I forget the guys name, about doing the 60k service cause I didn't want to take it to the dealer. Everything was going well initially, got the quote and accepted the price and went to schedule a time to come in and then all of sudden the dude went ghost. I kept texting him and after a few days I just gave up and went somewhere else. I cant imagine having someone working on my car or needing help during a emergency and not being able to get hold of them. Thats just unacceptable.

Horrible communication so I decided to go somewhere I could actually communicate with. If it was that hard just to talk to someone about spending the money I am guessing any kind of support after the purchase would be non existent.
If they are that busy good for them but either hire a receptionist or simply tell customers " I'm too busy and can't take on any more work so look elsewhwre".
Yeah I've been to his shop and it's beautiful and he does great work. Just unwilling to accept he needs more staff. I'm going to try and schedule the flex fuel tune for my car but we will see. My confidence level is pretty low with getting a hold of him, scheduling, and actually accomplishing.
WTF tuned was another shop that has great communication/ customer servive and I have purchased a few things from them. Injectors, clutch etc.
Full Race seems like a bigger shop and they serve great on the phone and pricing is on Par with everything else.
Question for everyone since I'm new to the Mitsubishi thing. What is the best software for data logging/watching sensors/throttle position/etc.? ?VW had VAG COM which was great but doesn't work with Mitsu.
The car is still "spitting" even before onset of boost intermittently under load above half throttle with no CEL or stored faults. I'm going to have to watch numbers live when it happens to see what the deal is.
I don't normally ask for forum diagnoses but if anyone has experienced this before (I checked plugs, all gapped correctly) let me know what the fix was so I can at least check in those areas.

EvoScan and ECUflash with a tactrix 2.0 dongle.
For your tune, I would HIGLY recommend getting with English Racing and having Aaron remote tune it so you can watch all your driveability problems go away with a base map.
You really need a wideband AFR gauge if you don't have one. The spitting you're experience is likely an issue when the car is going into open loop that you won't see without the wideband. It's either hanging onto closed loop too long, or the open loop fueling is off in that area.

I reached out to Chad at CBRD, and with some open, honest communication am going to get the car back up to him to access.
With the multiple suggestions for Evoscan and Tactrix cable, I'm going to pick them up to have as well.
Thanks!

Just keeping everyone updated:
Chad and I had talked, and even though at the time of my last post he did disclose he'd be stepping away from the business he assured me that he'd resolve the issues I'd brought up.
Never happened. I'm also hearing a lot of people complaining about not getting special orders from him, etc.
He's now doing something with a Porsche dealership as some type of ambassador so I wish him the best of luck but wow, way to leave loose ends out there and just step away from them.
Also, I had my engine built (per his recommendation) by Darton East. I found the timing cover leaking 150 miles after I got the car back when we turned the boost up. Their response "Eric, we would be happy to resolve the leak for you. Please remove the engine and ship it to us, and we'd be happy to fix the leak." I'm not sure how stupid I look, or sound, but who the f*** would do that to reseal a timing cover improperly sealed? After a 5 figure bill with them, I expected them to cough up the money for a local performance shop, or even them requesting the car back, to fix it in the car.
So, since one option doesn't answer calls for the miscellaneous issues, and the leak has the stupidest warranty I've ever heard of, I contacted Moore Automotive and Bill talked me through what can/can't be done. They're about two hours from me, and my finances are tied up at the moment, but they will be my stop to clean the car up and get her on flex, etc.
Anyone had any experiences with these guys? I can't take another non-communicative shop.

About Moore in VA. Bill is fairly responsive to answer your questions. He is the owner, so it is his best interest to be communicative and be supportive. I have talked to a few of his employees, and they appear to be knowledgeable. That is my first impression anyway.
I will find out soon enough if they handle the install of new parts on my car as well as I hope (no mistakes, and yes I will check their work. For example, if I see shoddy spliced work on fuel pump wiring, well that's a bad sign. LOL). I am having them install a turbo and its support mods. I have had ****ty experience with a prior shop few years ago, which makes me weary of any performance shop. It is too bad to hear about CBRD, as it was also my first choice, it was just too far.
In any case, I don't think you will have a communication problems with Moore, but I cannot say as of yet about quality of their work.
Good Luck!
