New to the Evo X SST platform :(
Hey guys! i recently purchase an 08 evo MR with about 67K miles on the odometer and the car has a few issues where i’m not too sure what’s going on with it, firstly under the hood of the car there’s a slight chatter noise closer to CYL. #1 my guess is a valve or maybe the timing chain? secondly, the transmission seems a little funky, i’m not sure if it’s slip or needs serviced? the car under low load shifting seems likes its hesitating to shift, it’s kind of hard to explain but under a higher load the transmission doesn’t do that thing as aggressive but still often hesitates to shift i’m very confused. Also, what do you guys use for the AYC pump fluid, Diff and transfer case fluid, along with the transmission fluid? plan on servicing the drivetrain. Also, i have a weird idle issue where every so often it’ll rev up to like 2k and go down, the cars been checked for intake and boost leaks, the idle sits around 1000 and that’s where the idle target is set at, could this be a tune thing or?

Chatter noise at idle is 100% normal for a SST equipped Mitsubishi. You are hearing the clutches chatter as they are not engaged.
As far as the shifting, are you feeling this in S-Sport as well? If the car is tuned, it might not be tuned correctly.
For drivetrain fluids. A quick search will tell you all you need. Most use OEM. For SST, 100% use OEM fluid.

Always drive in S-Sport to minimize clutch slip and wear.
My startup procedure is as follows:
Key on, wait 3sec
Ign start
TC OFF
AWC OFF
S-Sport
Putting it into S-Sport is as normal as putting on my seatbelt now.
The chatter could also be injectors, especially if they are large, and worse when cold.
My ID1700's clatter loudly on cold starts here in Iowa.
