Angry Slipping Transmission

Over the past couple of weeks i've noticed the transmission slipping when casually driving. I finally found some time to test things in a little detailed and in normal or sport mode anytime the car is accelerating casually or aggressively it will start to accelerate, pause then continue as normal while the pedal is pressed in the entire time. There is no grinding our loud noises or anything associated with the slipping other then the pause in the car accelerating.

Interestingly enough if I put the car in Super-Sport Mode the transmission works perfectly fine and makes super precise shifts with no issues. I have it scheduled with a local Mitsubishi dealership next week but was wondering if anyone on here had any suggestions or any idea what the problem could actually be before I take it in to them. I really hope its nothing major and hopefully just something with the TCU/ECU that can be programmatically fixed. The car is like 9 months out of warranty but only has 42k miles on it.

When was the last time you changed the trans fluid, and did you use OEM?

I was told by Kozmic to always drive in S-Sport. It increases the transmission clutch pressure, and reduces slip.
Did you scan for any codes?
The previous owner on my car ran E85 and slipped the clutches setting a P18xx code. I cleared the code, went to pump gas again, and have had no slip since. Sometime in the summer, I'll be having them put the 12 disc kit in.

Thanks for the replies. Sorry on the delay in getting back on here but I got the trans fluid replaced (with OEM) and it immediately fixed the problem. Its back to shifting without any issues. I do wish I had gone with better than OEM fluid but I'll likely do that next time.

It didn't report and codes ever and didn't make any grinding or alarming noises ever it was just seemingly an issues with the car not having an idea of how much pressure to apply then figuring everything out.

Hmm, Ive heard that SS-mode could actually be bad for it but I've never talked to anyone like Kozmic about that mode, good to know.

Glad you got it sorted out without too much pain. You did the right thing going OEM, there is no better fluid for it. It's advised by all the top SST Trans builders to only ever use OEM fluid in the SST.

The best fluid for the SST is the OEM fluid. That's it.
