Installing a “new” OEM turbo + Questions
Installing a “new” OEM turbo + Questions
So my evo x mr has 131k miles. One trans rebuild and one valve body replacement. How much longer do you think my oem turbo could last? I found one on the fb marketplace with 7k miles I’m thinking about purchasing. Would I need to re tune my car even if I’m installing a newer oem turbo? I’m guessing not but looking for advice from the pros hahah
also since my car has this many miles, what should I be ready for next in terms of maintenance and upgrading? I’ve replaced the transfer case and front diff. I have a tbe, 3 port bc, Walbro 255 fuel pump, intake and upper intercooler pipes. Tuned on 93 at a whopping (lol) 300whp (didn’t want to push more to hurt anything else, just yet lol)
let me know, any help is appreciated. Thank you!

No retune would be necessary for replacing the turbo with the same turbo. Maintenance is the standard replace fluids and sparklugs. And fix things as they break. Replacing expensive major components without a failure occurring is kinda silly IMO unless you're doing it for an upgrade.
