AMS FMIC/Intake Overboosting
AMS FMIC/Intake Overboosting
Hi everyone,
I got a 2008 evo X in late January of this year (about 2 months ago) with 57k miles. It had an AMS FMIC and AMS intake when I bought it with a stage 1 cobb tune. I installed an ETS v3 dual muffler catback on it a few weeks ago.
Anyways, ever since i got the car i noticed it produces a concerning amount of boost. It peaks around 29psi and tapers to 25psi. This is kinda concerning to me, I have seen it peak all the way up to 29.8psi before. Today I ordered an AEM uego wideband to monitor my air:fuel ratio. If the evo's AFR is running too rich I'll definitely need to get it tuned. Has anyone seen this amount of overboost before? I am just concerned the previous owner was overboosting the evo all the time. Let me know if you've seen these kind of boost levels on an evo with just a FMIC and intake.

My car is tuned at 28psi tapers down to 25psi and by redline to 20psi. On 91oct. It all depends on the tune.
