Nisei FMIC

Anymore update on the Nisei FMIC? Seems to have gone all quiet after the initial buzz....real world reviews/dyno figures anyone?

i've never heard the end of buschur and ams discussion on nisei and their test method, etc.

Buschur FMIC and AMS, can't go wrong with it, but I do like the nisei.

i have it and it's a great i/c. my intake temps dropped around 20 degrees. it was a noticeable gain. intake temps always match ambient temps, and as i boost the temps get cooler. thats my experience.

Yeah, I wonder why they never came out to defend their product. Seems to have gone all quiet recently.

Were you using the stock FMIC before the swap to Nisei? Just want to know the drop in temp was compared against which FMIC.

I think David Buschur is right on the part where the Nisei fins are too dense which doesnt allow as much airflow to the radiator. I have showed a couple of friends and tuners and they all said the same thing about the airflow issue. Definately someone should test it against the other fmic's.

as far as cooling goes my aem logs show the same engine temps before the i/c went in. i was comparing to stock intercooler. I also noticed my intake manifold and piping was barely warm as opposed to the stock i/c's hot to the touch. I believe most of the intercoolers out there are great, but the more surface area the greater the efficiency.

Your AEM logs showed engine temp via water or oil temp readings? If water temp reading, at what speed was the car travelling when the reading was taken? Just wanna make sure that the dense fins count isn't a big issue when the car is at speed. I'm thinking that even if there's a water temp raise of 5C to 10C, I can live with that If I'm not wrong, the extra power generated through the denser intake air should also generate more heat thus raising the water temp. It's all interconnected right?

We need more reviews from unbiased users...the vendors war is fudging the facts up badly

this was water temp at highway speeds and around town. there are no cooling issues. oh yeah, don't believe everything that a vendor says!

The nisei fmic is a very tight fit & heavy.

Nice construction & a great warranty.

I needed to remove some material from the crash bar tabs that support the bumper skin, same thing on the bumper skin too.

undertray doesnt fit, unless to cut a lot off.

Well hate to break it to you but I don't think BR is right. If you did a little research you might find out that the BR FMIC is more dense than the Nisei.

BR has 18 fins per inch while the Nisei is 13.

This link is for anyone who's concerned about the radiator temps changing.
