Grimspeed EBCS Compatibility

How can i confirm a part number on a Grimspeed EBCS except for just seeing that one of the ports is angled. If i were to go by the port angles, it would seem that I have a 4G63 version of the device installed on my 4B11.

Is this compatible or could cause boosting issues? Trying to stay calm as I research, visually looks incorrect.

It's just a mac solenoid, they're the same. Only difference is the mounting bracket. Just make sure it is plumbed correctly.

Thanks for responding. I checked Plumbing last night and 3 to turbo compressor tube (stock).

Also bought another Grimspeed EBCS to rule out the possibility. Very desperate for boost. no change.

Have done some research via Merlin's Tune handbook and reviewing the "tuner's" settings. seems like i can make more boost if i increase "Reactive Solenoid Base WGDC Map". Immediately noticed that i can boost past 23psi(28psi).

I reverted and logged the change and noticed i am only getting to 200 load.

im stock turbo with TBE, ets plumbing and AEM intake. did a boost leak test and held to 25psi+ with no leaks.

it does seem like a computer based aka tune limitation.

Gave up on my tuner because I moved to another state and he's "not really doing e-tune". budgeting for a tuner who does AND knows SST.

**Confession: i shouldn't be messing around cause i can blow something(as i did a evo9). im not WOTing out the garage and known for sand bagging the gas peddle. im comfortable on computer but when interfacing into a 20-40k car my confidence is minimal and solely relying on information obtained from these two Evo forums and that manual (focused on page 72(boost tuning section))

Make sure you are plugging in the brown plug, not the black one. Common mistake.

And leave the black one plugged in to the OEM solenoid so you don't get a code.

Yes. Confirmed.

I did some new tinkering with the Mivec Tables. They were stock values. I went ahead and changed to the GST version of the Mivec Tables only(Hot and Cold), but left the Timing tables alone. As a result, the car seems to easily gain speeds of 120-130mph easier without the extra noise/drone i used to get in the cabin. Prior to this it seems like it was struggling to get up over 100mph, but thought that was due to the reduced wastegate actuator pressure limitation.

Question: how does the ecu know when its tuned for Load Boost versus Direct boost? I have values set for both theybare different. I have the stock MAP so those direct boost values should or are disabled? In load based boost, i oy reach 197(200) load at 12-14psi with the newly obtained Grimspeed device. Before it was 11-12psi.
