Bought used with spun rod bearing. Heard it run personally and sure enough, rod knock, not a "huge" problem right? Opened it up and EVERY bearing in the bottom end was spun. All mains and thrust washer was killed. Not sure how that even happens. Any hope for salvaging the block? Look at the tangs for the main bearings in particular. Thanks

The tangs have spun and dug into the mating surfaces for the caps but other than that it's a square block. Just not sure about resurfacing those surfaces ya know

Update: Block is on its way to Golden Eagle with new crank, I beams, and pistons in the tote. Bob is sceptical about wether its gonna be salvagable but gonna have a look anyway. So if anyone has a bare block thats in their way keep this thread in mind over the coming weeks lol

The block can be saved if they make main bearings oversized enough to compensate for the amount of material they will need to remove during the line bore process. From the pictures it looks like you have a good chance at saving it.
