How bad is this turbo crack??

Exhaust manifold was done the other day and my friend found this crack in the turbo. How bad is this? Doesn’t look terrible but how likely is this to cause me problems. Seems common but haven’t found anything about how bad this is or could be.

Housing is junk, needs replaced. Time for an 18k upgrade.

I'm in a similar situation. If my turbocharger needs to be replaced, I'm considering ordering a new stock turbo TD05HA-152G6-12T (part number: 1515A198), as I'm not mentally prepared to deal with the truckload of unexpected that would come with installing and tuning a TF06-18K turbo.

So my tuner gave me some confidence. I hope it helps. “Thanks for reaching out! I did end up speaking with our tuner and he mentioned that the crack will not play any huge effect on the tune and would still be able to be tuned tomorrow. This will not affect power output or boost control or anything like that. Most people's turbine housings are cracked like that due to the casting design from Mitsubishi, but most people run it as it is without ever knowing. The only way to know it was there would be to remove the downpipe or turbocharger for inspection.”

we knew some of this but helps let us know that this specific crack should not be an issue for us.

That crack is minor and won't cause issues until it gets a lot bigger. Worst case is you'll have slower spool and possibly less max boost but I don't even see carbon from exhaust gasses coming through the crack yet. Manifold cracks are more problematic.
