Axle seals help

When leaking do evo x MR axle seals leak transfer case oil on both sides or one is transfer other is sst?

tldr: im leaking bad, buddy said its the seals, said driver side one is leaking my sst fluid other is leaking transfer case fluid.

I have a project car that i finally picked up and drove from home town to another city where i live, approx 200km (120miles), while it was sitting it had low atf fluid in the trunk, i filled it up and few months later took it on a few test drives, drove great, transmission shifts no hessitation, no leaks.
After driving the car for 200km i noticed a loud whining sound (probably the transfercase pinion dying) and found a puddle of oil in the morning. Atf in the trunk reservoir is as low as before i filled it up. After getting it checked out with my service buddy, he told me its the seals leaking on both sides, told me one is leaking my sst fluid, the other one is leakint transfer case atf. Drivers side seal is leaking heavily while passenger side is moderately wet. Im looking to know if hes right about the transmission fluid and if it could have hurt the sst or is it just running my transfer case dry and thats why it whines, also looking to know if it could be anything else than seals, maybe seal on passenger side and something transmission related on the drivers side? I finnaly just got the project to point of being able to take it for a spin and it just vommited a puddle of oil lol
