this is the bolt which felt like it stripped, shown in the old transmission

After fitting a new SST into my 09 ralliart (Old one was shot) as I tried to reconnect the transfercase, the one long bolt that sits under the turbo heat shield and goes through the transfercase felt like it immediately stripped the threads inside the trans bellhousing as soon as I put any sort of torque on it. What are my options? I assume i’ll somehow need to make new threads, but how should I do that and will I need to remove the transmission again to fix it, or is there a way to do it in the car? I’m in a bit of a rush as the car needs to be out of the driveway soon. Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

You can repair this by using a heli-coil or time sert kit.
