As crappy as the IX gauges are, it had the tach where it belongs (dead center). Why they moved it is beyond me.

 

They changed the display it to save production costs by sharing the same manufacturing platform as the wonderful Eclipse.

 

i agree like alot people say evo ix is the last real evo not that i dont like the X i love the X front looks sick hopefully it would make some good # with less mods

 

Now that I think about it... that RPM/speedo gauge setup looks EXACTLY like the BMW's setup...

 

I'm getting tierd of defending the X but it seems liek you guys will find anything to ***** about

Well, from the Evo 1 to 6, the tach has always been on the side. It's only with the CT9A cars that they switched to a center mounted tach. I'd prefer it to be in the center as well. As far as people saying that the IX is the last true evo, IMO, the Evo V, VI and VI TME are were the last real evos. Lighter, more agile and with less electronic gizmos to muddy the driving experience.

 

^ USDM Evo 8 didn't have the electronic gizmos either.
