Elsewhere, talking to some of the Japanese car hacks who have already driven both the Evo X and WRX STI, they all agreed that, while the Evo is the prettier car, the Sub is faster and much easier to drive. They say the Mitsu feels more complicated and fiddly next to the WRX.

While I'm looking forward to finding out about all the above facts and fictions myself...

If true, that is really bad.

Oh dear. There are still the final few units of the Evo 9 RS available here, I've already made an appt with the dealer to go check them out. They're brand new and significantly cheaper than the X. And from the looks of things, faster, and more tunable too.

Nongan is playing the whole subaru vs mitsu card the only thing you know how to do?

Well, this past Saturday,
I had driven the WRX models, both versions, and I have to say, the interior is much nicer and it handles real well.
I loved the racing seats, it was like a carbon fiber color with a scotch material that seems to repel any liquids and keeps the passenger planted in the seat.
I am not a big fan of tall shift sticks but it was adequate and we know that can be changed.
I didn't see the one with the NAV system, which was disappointing. But the car is much bigger then the old.

I think it should be noted that this is not gospel.

Who cares if it feels 'fiddly' ... what I want to know is if it goes around a road course faster.

i am still going to wait for real feedback on the evo X... either from jeremy or the stig on top gear, or until its released here to get the peoples opinions on it. There is too much garbage floating around about both, and i am gonna hold out

Actually, if the evo x is 'harder' to drive, wouldn't that be more fun?

Eh,

I think this is almost a moot point for me seeing how I'm one of those folks who mainly cares about the SST models, and thus far I'm not getting any word on those soooooooooo.... until I hear/read str8 up comparisons of the USDM MR vs the Subies & stand alone tests then I'm still reading these tidbits like ehhhh.

I do think that it seems that if you're getting a stick then there MAY be better alternatives then the X GSR models.
