To be honest, even if STI IS faster than the Evo X GSR, Mitsubishi still has a little time to tweak with the MR to make it go faster, like, adjusting the boost.

looks like they were talking about the JDM sti

"The new Impreza rides on a wheelbase that's 4.0 inches longer than before, but this is actually a fractionally smaller package, some 1.7 inches shorter although 1.7 inches wider. As a result, the 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STI will weigh 3,263 pounds. "

I agree with you. Honestly in a straightline I think the STI will be slightly quicker, I mean it probably has around the same or slightly more power and weighs less (no where near 200 or 300Lbs, LOL, don't know where that came from). But still in all honesty the STI will not sale well at all in my opinion. First off high priced hatch is a death sentence (I still believe Subaru can't be that stupid and has near future plans for a sedan, even though it will still be ugly). Second thing while quicker than an EVO X, it doesn't seem like it will be a huge difference and all around performance may still be equal or in favor of the EVO (I don't know though). Both cars seem to be focusing on different markets, and the EVO in my opinion has done a better job with this. I know many people are getting upset, but Mitsubishi is focusing in pulling in more customers and I guess that means some EVO purist are being left behind. The Subaru on the other hand is switching focus, but I am having a hard time figuring out why they are doing such a terrible job at it.

If I was truly in a fanboy mode, or what I call my absolute hatred mode of the existence of all Stupidarus then I'd say-

The STI no matter what year is terribly overrated. The 09 STI just made my job easier in being a STI hater.
