The JDM version of the regular spec Evo X does not have the Rockford Fosgate system. It comes with the higher spec ones.

Direct conversion of the Yen price listed on the stand is $31,151.33 USD. Then add in transport costs, US fees, US taxes on imports and this car (which looks to be the base level GSR with no options) could cost around $35K here.

I would guess with all the options on it, the GSR would sticker around $38-$39K. Which would lead me to guess the MR would sticker over $40K

I highly doubt the prices would be that high considering Mitsu needs to make sales and they would be pricing themselves out of competition with other cars in that price range. But if you are right I may just have to seriously consider the 135i instead.

I'm hoping I'm wrong because it would be a big mistake for the MSRP to be that high. But, the economics of it are lining up to be somewhere in the ballpark I came up with. Many others have mentioned the same price range. Some dealers have been telling folks the MR will be close to $45K! Now, that could be because they're trying to mark up the car during launch and rape their consumers. But, $45K...damn!

Mitsubishi japan's website has the GSR Premium package with SST at 4,244,100 yen which is 36,843.03 USD...the GSR premium with SST is basically an MR with technology package...so add your transport costs, fees, taxes on imports and sticker for a FULLY LOADED MR should be right under 40K...these are all still speculations...I think everybody just needs to wait until official prices are released...the only reason why I keep saying under 40K is because building the car on Mitsubishi's website puts a fully loaded GSR with SST (basically a fully loaded MR) at 36K...so, I'm just going by Mitsubishi's japanese prices not what dealers here in the states are saying because Mitsubishi's US dealer link (where dealers order their Mitsubishis) is not giving dealers invoice prices yet when they're ordering the X's...so dealers have no idea what it's going to cost yet...

That's a good post. Hopefully it does come in under $40K. If it winds up over $40K, Mitsu is screwed...

Look at the bulged fenders on that STI. While I hate the look of the hatch I can't deny the aggressive styling of those flared fenders. If that thing wasn't a hatch it would be soooo good looking.

I wish the Evo X had such aggressive fender flares

The interior of the Evo looks nicer. More stuff going on. The sti interior is too plain for me. Although I think the Evo interior looks a little busy, well the steering wheel at least.
