Cypress CA, Evo X info as of Nov. 14th

Thought people here might want to know this.

"Metallurgy - LAST MINUTE ADDITIONS

The internal components of the new Lancer Evolution's engine have been reinforced to withstand high levels of boost. The turbocharged version of the new 4B11 features a cross-drilled forged steel crankshaft that rotates in 4-bolt main bearing caps. Also unique to this engine are reinforced forged steel connecting rods that are attached to pistons unique for the application. The new engine's pistons are gravity castings made of a high strength aluminum material designed for durability, and quiet operation, and also include a unique ring package optimized for this engine."

"There's no doubt, Lancer Evolution enthusiasts have very high expectations for the new 4B11 engine," said Dan Kuhnert
"In terms of overall performance, refinement, efficiency and durability, we're confident they'll view the new engine as a more-than-worthy successor to the 4G63."

Wow there's a lot of detailed info and technical specs. Even had an article stating the suspesion geometry and the alignment settings.

Now where's the pricing???? Ohter cars (GT-R, 135i) that come out much later have already released their pricing. Why can't Mitsu do the same especially when the X is supposed to go on sale in about 2 months.

So it's down 4 horses from the estimates. No biggie. What I'm concerned more now is 1. Pricing and 2. Official USDM weights.

If it's at the JDM 33xx level cool. If it's going to be at the 35xx level like the Canadian model I really may have to reconsider this purchase.

Maybe they're saving the best news for last

Or, they're too afraid to put it out just yet

According to a rep - around $30k for base GSR, $36k for base MR.

It's like they're pushing you to mod it out however you like, then comes warranty work and be denied!

Well, at least, it's promising for the EVO X to be mod friendly and to know that Mitsubishi is keep the enthusiasts in mind... and on their toes!

very interesting info, thanks!

keep bringing in the updates.

...its funny, I was all down about the new evo last week, but this week with the potential pricing of the mr starting at 36k and the good reviews or updates on this new engine, things are looking a little bit more positive.

...i also changed color choices too, Graphite Grey!!

So, the pistons aren't forged, yet its supposed to maintain "high-levels" of boost. And what exactly do they consider "high-levels"? I find that interesting.
