Jan Best Motoring Evo X battle
You're jumping to conclusions...I never said that the IX was better than the X. I just meant that the IX is faster in the straights because it's lighter, despite the fact that it's down on power.
i believe best motoring has the starting grid according to power to weight ratio, not necessarily the fastest in the back
after seeing the clip i'd NOT be surprised if the JDM IX came out on top in both the battle and the time attack. to date there have NOT been actual proof that the X is faster than the JDM IX except in mitsu press literature. i really dunno. i guess this BM battle will be the 1st real documented "test" of X vs IX. the more i think about it, the more i think the X is fast only because of....ASC!!! i mean ACD, S-ABS, and AYC are all basically the same in the JDM models. the thing they keep touting is ASC with all the comparos of ASC ON and ASC OFF. think of ferrari. without their traction control, the cars would be **** in the hands of anybody but a pro...
i'm beginning to doubt the other changes to the chassis, turbo, etc. can offset the weight gain and add enough to the car to beat the JDM IX by 1 minute on the proving grounds or whatever. has the JDM X been perennially compared to the USDM IX or something???

yeah but this just adds to the conspiracy theory that the western press were specifically given a USDM IX to track test at the mitsu proving grounds vs the JDM X.

This seems to be the first posted apples to apples test. JDM X vs JDM IX. And it looks like the JDM IX is walking all over the other cars from this teaser. Could just be creative editing to give the impression the JDM IX is whooping the other cars. Would love to see the whole thing to see who wins!
Nice to finally see an apples to apples comparison. All the previous reviews from the first press drive event were JDM X vs USDM IX...not really a fair comparison since USDM cars are heavier...USDM X is nearly 200 lbs heavier (I'm too lazy to pull up the exact numbers) than JDM X.
We'll see how well the X performs when the car mags put together a test of USDM X vs USDM IX.

+1. But then again, people are also drawing lots of conclusions from a vehicle that hasn't been tested yet...USDM Evo X. Speculation is fun.
