Jan Best Motoring Evo X battle
Who even knows what kind of IX it is? It may not even be stock, maybe some sort of spec racer version? But if it IS a stock JDM IX, oh boy I see a whole lot of you eating your words!
In the straight line, I'm sure that the Evo 9 is faster than the Evo 10.
C&D 0-100mph: Evo 9 12,6s(USDM) / Evo 10 13,8s(JDM)
BMI 0-400m: Evo 9MR 12,8s(JDM) / Evo 10 13,6s(JDM)
Around the track... let's wait the full BMI video.

uggh, if those numbers are true. . .How do you make a car appeal to a broader audience by making it fatter, slower, bigger, and more expensive? By simply adding a nice soundsystem and navigation? I don't know about that. . .
I still want an Evo X pretty bad but if it comes out and cost around 34 or 35 grand (GSR), I'm sorry but I'd rather have Bimmer for that amount of money.
As for the track test, I would hope the X is faster because if it isn't, didn't Mitsubishi pretty much just lie straight to our faces? All we've been hearing is how the X goes around Mitsu's test track 2 seconds (?) faster than the old one.

From C&D:
"The Evo X is less communicative, larger, heavier, and slower compared with the previous Evo. It's the inevitable trade-off that occurs when a car strives for more refinement. The steering, for one, no longer has that high-tension-wire responsiveness that made the old car such fun. If you're an Evo fan boy, you can stop reading right now."

C'mon guy's, the evo ix was at the tail end of the grid and the evo x sst was 2nd on the grid, all those cars are stock it's just that the evo x fan boy in you cant accept that the x was beat in that clip. Don't forget the jdm ix has ayc so the playing feild is even.

Everybody saw this right? At the end you have the IX vs. X in the slalom etc.

It's all speculation for now, but I doubt very much if the USDM X can keep up with the USDM IX around a race track with a professional driver at the wheel. 300lbs is a lot of weight on the race track. I don't have experience with AYC but there's not that much more area under the torque curve to make up the difference with power. In my experience weight is #1 on the race track and anything over 3000 lbs is expensive (tires and brakes) to run. The Evo 8's and 9's are extremely hard on front pads due to the weight bias of the car. The stock Brembo set up is marginal for track use @3200lbs.
I beleive if you have a $5K budget to track prep both cars, the IX will be even further ahead.
Having said all that, the point of the new car is not to be an all out racer. I think it will be a better all around car but if you want track performance you better scoop up a 2006 RS if you can find one.

because this video made for japanies guys in japan , we can bravely say that is a JDM IX vs JDM X.
I don't know, why even is this a question here?
They living with Evo's years before most of the guys even heard about it or even care in here.
You can't use other market Evo there ,only JDM. You think they don't know?
phatetic.

They usually shoot these battles ahead of time and usually the car they causally review is the last segment to be filmed that is why the STI wasn't in the battle because it just came out. Last month's BM only had the Evo X briefly reviewed and wasn't in their battle segment.
Here are the cars in the battle, it's a standard MR Evo 9.
ランサーエボリューション X GSR 5MT (Evo X 5MT)
ランサーエボリューション X GSR SST (Evo X SST)
ランサーエボリューション IX GSR MR 6MT (Evo 9 MR)
インプレッサ WRX STI(旧型) (old STI)
スカイラインクーペ (Infiniti G37)
ランサーエボリューション X GSR 5MT (Evo X 5MT)
ランサーエボリューション X GSR SST (Evo X SST)
ランサーエボリューション IX GSR MR 6MT (Evo 9 MR)
インプレッサ WRX STI(旧型) (old STI)
スカイラインクーペ (Infiniti G37)
