Wow, the engine sounds great, but it has quiet a lot of body roll.

Quote: Everybody saw this right? At the end you have the IX vs. X in the slalom etc.

I dunno about that. Certain parts show the X to be faster, and other spots show the IX to be faster. They're so close it could really go either way.

Mind you, that's a JDM IX, which is > than what we have here.

It's also a JDM X, which is > than what we will get here.

It is hard to tell in that small teaser which car is winning. We'll find out the truth between USDM IX and USDM X when the car magazine start to test them against each other. Anyone know when the hell that is going to happen?

I wish in the Best Motoring video they showed a close up of the speedo rather than the tach

OH, and sub titles would be sweet too

Kinda wish he would shut up for two seconds too so i can hear the car. . .

Quote: Notice that the IX pulls away from the X on the straight in the track battle clip.
It's funny how one guy starts saying this, and leads to all the ignorant people (yes, and I mean specifically EVO IX owners) come out saying "yeah, IX is faster than the X" blah blah blah........How can you even tell what happened from that small portion of the clip? Is it that hard to accept the fact that the X could potentially be faster than your IX????

We all would love whatever we drive to be the fastest car, but come on, make some sense.

Oh btw, shame on you if you buy the EVO for all out straight line performance.

Well, I don't know what you people are looking at, but the x is clearly faster through the course by the end. If you look at the last u turn at the end of the course, the 9 pushes out when the x tucks in. Plus, the cars aren't really running side by side, and they aren't exactly on the same time line, they are just showing the cars at roughly the same parts on the track. And for what it's worth, my wife is Japanese, and she translated the video for me, and they are even commenting on how the 9 turns in faster, but that the x is faster mid-corner all the way through to the exit of the turn. They are praising the car the entire time for it's improvements over the previous model. And if you guys know anything about racing then you would know that the acceleration out of the apex is where you gain speed for the coming straightaway, and the x may turn in a hair slower but can accelerate fully from the apex and hold it's line, where the 9 looses traction. And these were on JDM models, where the 9 has AYC too. The advantages of the improved traction of the x are going to be even more drastic when compared to the evo 9 here in the states, which has no ayc, and both usdm evo 9 and usdm x have a proportional weight increase over their jdm counterparts, so that shouldn't play a role. Essentially, it will be like running the test again after disconnecting the ayc on the evo 9 jdm., and running it against the evo x jdm. Sorry guys, as badass as the 9 is, the X is better. Why can't you just accept it. Stop being fanboys.

are you talking about the "side by side" slalom video? or the BMI clip as posted by the OP???

in the BMI clips of the 5 lap tsukuba battle, you clearly see the IX pass the X SST. since tsukuba is such a short and twisty track, i doubt the X can muster a pass on the IX after that. also note that the IX advanced position from DEAD last to FIRST. this is more telling than simply starting out in front and finishing in front. this says that in 5 laps the car passed the whole field. crazy impressive. in fact you can see that the IX barrels through to the front right away...

either way, the new MT test just adds more credence that the Evo X = Weak Fat Pig
