What I think is funny, people act like the X is like 2 seconds slower in every category. Which is far from the trueth.. i mean in most of the track tests ive seen it was like half a second slower than the IX? i mean c'mon I think the trade off is worth it. I'm willing to accept it until the production car comes out and then it will tell the real story.

People just seem to enjoy hating Change, but I think the EvoX sounds promising. My only complaint is I want a 6spd MT, not a SST for the MR. Maybe XI? I hope.

U just cant please everzone.

thats the point i have been missing all along, people are crying about the X being slower, 95% of the evo owners will never have to actually use that extra 0.5 or 0.6 seconds to win a race or save their live or someone elses, so why this crying

X might be on tap for me.

Guys, my first time posting here. Just put down money on getting a rally red GSR.

Anyway, back on topic, if you look at the Evo market, it is an extremely small market compared to the main consumer market. If you look at Toyota/Lexus, they are becoming number 2 here in the US, yet they do not have anything like the Evo IX/X. The Evo X is trying to appeal to a broader audience, and it's pretty evident they want to take on Lexus, BMW, and Acura with this model.

Gone are the days of the rally bred Evo. You will see a lot more luxury, style, and safety that most Americans expect. To us enthusiasts that's weight and more money, but more mass market appeal. Time will tell.

I'm going to wait it out, and see how the motor performs during 08 and what direction the aftermarket stuff goes. Then i'll probably pick one up in late 08/early 09. I'd really like to see Mitsu release either the RS, or some special edition model with a true 6spd MT. I'm crossing my fingers at least.
