well the new Acura MDX is an awesome vehicle. if I were looking for a SUV, it would be on the top of a very very short list. I think if Honda would drop its sack and actually extract the potential power from the numerous cars that they have that are capable of being so much more than they are, there would be alot of quality, performance minded (more-so than they already are) cars available. I am/was a huge "honda-head", before owning my evo of course, and would love it if you could get a tsx coupe w/ a turbo, or maybe a low profile, supercharged S2000 from the factory....thats just my .02

I am anticipating the next S2000 with excitement, and some anxiety. Seeing the trend in today's newer cars I can't help but be worried about the S2000's successor being some porky GT. Its been tough to be a Honda fan these last few years, but if Honda does the right thing with the S2000 (even though there is NOTHING wrong with the current car) and also comes through with a Type-R version of the CR-Z, all might not be lost.

Its funny that the Evo X's greatest competitor will be the IX.

Me personally, i am looking for a 4 door(family, and drive clients around), and although I can drive stick, my wife can not, so I was looking forward to the EvoX MR... You guys really put a damper on that though.. hehe

Apologies in advance, but I was never a real fan of the looks of the previous evo's, but really like the looks of the new one.

When someone mentioned the evo's in the 40k range I went back to looking at the 335xi. my research shows BMW is having a ton of transmission problems in the 335. I have also heard of suspension problems in the past few years... My best friend, who is a BMW freak, has even told me to stay away from them because they are having some quality issues lately.

I am 6'3", and I went down to the Suby dealership and got into a wrx hatchback... I could barely fit in the rear seat of the wrx, so that is prolly off my list...

I dont have a clue what I want to do anymore.... I need a new car this spring, and wanted a 4 door house that was fun... I test drove a speed6, but that seriously lacks the flatten my eyeballs acceleration I was wanting.

Suppose I could buy a used acura and put a turbo etc on myself, but acura's are like a$$#0!3s... everyones got one, at least in my area..... hehehe

I work for Honda Canada and so far the TSX specs have not changed a lot for 09. They have only added 10lb of torque comepared to the 08 model.

let not forget that the Subaru and Mitsu are somewhat started this new trend of performance oriented cars (especially the WRX). Prior to the WRX, you didnn't see many imports or 4-door perform like those exotic sport cars in the U.S.

Oh I know... I am having a hard time finding anything else that is in my price range and provides 4 door excitement.... I also am having a hard time swallowing that huge price difference between the gts and the evoX.. that is like 15-20k difference.... I could buy a lot of parts for that price.. hehe course I would lay waste to my warranty too....

A Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution has no place amongst any of the other cars mentioned in this thread, period. And yet, those are the cars that Mitsu chooses to target? Ok, setting an S4 as a benchmark is not a bad idea, but to actually market their car towards the S4's audience? Get real . Its like when they cast Phillip Seymour Hoffman as the villain in Mission Impossible 3. The guy is a good actor in a comedy, but then who can take him seriously as a bad guy?
Hmmm..I thought Hoffman did a great job in that movie...

just the mental image makes me crack up every single time. And so it ruined my image of him as a villain in MI:3. Thank god for Maggie Q though

You're asking for a lot. Really fast, relatively affordable, 4 doors and I'm assuming new. If you were looking at used, you might have a better chance. I'd suggest the Legacy GT but if the MS6 isn't fast enough for you, the LGT probably isn't either.

Btw, everyone has an Acura for a few very good reasons.

Wasn't bad mouthing the acura, just saying that I see a lot of them around.... My interest doesnt get peaked when I see someone pull into the drive with an acura... /tease

I still like the speed6(roomie and wasnt too bad on acceleration, wasnt too great either.. hehe), and have been tempted to go back and relook at it again. A chip would prolly help that out a lot too... I dont seem to remember a lot of easily accessible mods available for the speed6, but it's been a few months since I researched them....

I remember driving a Buick GNx when I was a teenager, and being in LOVE with the power(GNx did the quarter mile in 13.3 stock)... Although, memories are like ex-girlfriends, you forget about the bad, and only remember the good..... hehe

Love to hear other peoples recommendations for 4 door performance cars.. even used isnt out of the question at this point. Although I am a bit hesitant to buy someones beat banana performance car...

Also, the evo x is still in the running.... There isnt a lot of details out there, so the jury is still out... The stuff that is out there is pretty negative, but I am still reading and digesting all the info i can get....
