Everyone does realize this is JUST a car. Take all the numbers away, the name and all the toys and it is just a means of transportation or "fun" however you see it. Last time I checked the insurance rates on an Evo were in the top 5 of most expensive vehicles to insure. Some people might see that as a bad thing, maybe Mitsubishi "died" down the car a little and made it heavier in hopes that they could lose that image or lessen it. Fast cars = fast death for some people. Whatever the reason...they did it and there is no going back...atleast for right now....If you are really concerned about the weight...then you will find ways to cut the fat....If it is a drag car you are looking for then you will make it into a drag car. If it is going to be a DD with spunk, then make into what you want. That is what is so great about modding a car...you can almost make it whatever you want it to be. It is really pointless to continually make thread after thread which all end in people arguing over the same issue....TO EACH HIS OWN...

Personally I like the IX but am very interested in the X. But unlike some people, I would rather wait a year or two before I invest a large amount of money into something that is "new." Let them work out the kinks and make some changes. For all we know, they may not be telling the public everything about the car. Maybe they want all the hype to go towards the STI and at the very last moment, release some information that would allow the X to come out on top. Who knows.... Everyone needs to relax....repeat after me....

Wuuuuuussssssaaaaaaaaaa.....

Now before anyone jumps down my throat realize...this is just my OPINION!!!!

I got my IX MR for $32,600 out the door with 3,000 miles on the clock. Almost a year and over 8,000 miles later, my Kelley Blue Book value is $32,540. Terrible, eh?

Let's see how the X depreciates when Mitsu brings over a ton of them and people start realizing they're not as fun/potent as the VIII/IX.

Anyone who buys a car thinking hes making an investment for profit is a fool.

im sure after a while everybody saying they hate the x will let it grow on them and like it.

for me-i think the x is ugly. i love the look of 8s and 9s though. something about them...

It does seem that Mitsu has gone a different direction with the X. A more polished evo if you will. I'm sure that the car will have some great potential but it also seems clear the VIII and IX were built with one goal performance. The X seems to have a goal of please the masses. I like the styling of the X (new looks good, not as in your face as the IX) and I do like new cars. I don't think the X is for me I will have to wait and see how it progresses or evolves lol.

I've driven both so heres my thoughts.

I would still take the evo9.

Why?
Because its more proven and just feels better.

If you were to leave the car stock, or slightly modify it and are just looking for a nice street car then the evo10 isn't so bad. It feels softer to drive and because of that it makes for a nicer street car over the evo9, actually really nice to drive.
But If you are going to do quite heavy mods then I would go with the proven evo9.

But thats just me, however i'd still take my evo6 over both of those

i was just thinking.... how would you feel ,if you are the 08 STI owner and the old evos are still faster? Because you think: hey i'm king of the road ! Since the new sti they say it will be faster then x.
Now you pull up next to an evo 8-9 and you will loose ... I'm sure it will be a different feeling if you would sit in the X.
So the X is not so bad ,don't you think?
