That makes no sense, they spent all this money with the new engine and new SST transmission, sh*t even a new chassis, only to sell a car for a couple of years. What makes more sense, is that the EVO X is the new foundation for where Mitsubishi is taking the Evolution.

 

I dont see them getting rid of the Evo X anytime soon. However, if the new X MR tanks, it will be due to the price and the SST and the tuning challenges it presents. They spent too much money developing this tranny. I think they will make standard, a manual tranny for the MR, with an SST option pending on how warm the reception is over here in the states.

 

But thats the thing, from all the reading and following of the design of Evo X, I think Mitsubishi designed Evo X with SST as the primary tranny, manual gearbox is an afterthought.

 

Hopefully sales will dictate whether it is a viable option or not. If the market response is not there for the MR and its SST, then hopefully they will revise what is offered with the MR. I doubt they would drop the SST, but i could see a slight drop in price for an MR if it included a 5 or 6spd. That would satisfy a broad spectrum of buyers. Those that want the top of the line, with the SST, and without the SST. Not to mention i would assume the manual would bring the price of the MR down slightly, there by bridging a gap between 34k (GSR) and 39k. are you listening?

 

this is the make it or break it either way the rumor mill says this is the last one...supposedly they wanted to end the lineage on the best all around evo, i could be wrong thats just what ive been hearing
