What year evo is the best to buy? Anyone have anything to say about which year is the best. Like if some years are missing things?

Just off of USDM platforms-

06 IX is possibly the best USDM EVO platform in my opinion, and may be the best EVO ever. The 05 VIIIs are also very powerful and by far the best of the VIII generation EVOs.

Why not an 03? If anything I say the 04 is worthless. 03's have HIDs, 04's have nothing special about them. I would say the newer ones are the best platforms but if you can get a used 03 you'll have money for mods.

'04's worthless? Ummm, considering '03's seem to be a mixed bag of issues, maybe '04s have their bugs worked out.

 

05+ JDM Evo or Euro Evo, which will give you AYC and ACD.

 

04 RS is the lightest and therefore has the most potential. 05's claim to fame is the 10.5 hotside, but that's not difficult to retrofit on an 03 or 04. The 06 IX is probably the best if you plan to stay close to stock.

to me 03 have to many issues , open front diff , no acd/ayc ...............I'm still sore about the caliper peeling problem I have !

 

if comparing to stock vs stock,the evo9 is the best evo because of the mivec engine and comes the 05,04 and 03.
