Would it be possible to put an Evo X five speed transmission into an Evo 8 or 9?

Just wondering if that could be done.

 

With enough money, anything is possible. But as it's a new engine and chassis, the answer for most sane people would be no.

 

I don't mean to be an a$$ but when there is a new car, why people have to ask if X part would fit X car when the car is not even out yet or just came out?

 

The simple answer is no.

The cost no object answer is of course.

The long and short of it however is the simple one. No.

Actually the answer maybe yes. The new tranny uses exact same gear ratios as the old 5 speed. They have stronger gear design to handle extra torque. Only the final drive has changed to sightly higher. The 4b11t was designed by mitsu and is supposedly different than the 4b11 world engine used by chrysler and hundai. I have my fingers crossed the tranny and t-case is same as old platform. even if the case is different it may be possible to swap the gearsets. 3000gt cars had cases completely different than an eclipse. because one was 6cylinder and the other a 4cyl. The gears sets were the same and interchangable.. I am hoping for the same trend. Not only are the gearsets stronger but they have double syncro 4th and 5th.

 

Is it possible to put the AYC into VIII or IX?
Is it possible to put the S-AWC into VIII or IX?
Is it possible to put the SST into VIII or IX?
Is it possible put IX engine into X (in place of or in addition)?
Is it possible to put a IX shaped body shell on top of the existing body of the X?

 

can i put a jet engine in the X?

 

LoL... two things i'm actually looking forward to swapping into my IX MR if possible from the X MR are the bigger light weight two piece rotors and the sick 18 inch bbs wheels

 

Guy asks a simple question and gets a bunch of wise azz answers from a bunch of know it alls. This board is full of azzholes sometimes. I have been playing and modding mitsus for 21 years. The parts change ability between different mitsu platforms is nothing short of amazing. Mitsu doesnt like to redesign parts when they already have one designed and working.

 

That was wat i was thinking exactly.. those 2 piece rotors are NICE! i think they are using the same brembo braking system so why won't they fit?.. correct me if i'm wrong..

 

yes, you can add AYC to an 8 or 9. chances are you won't find anybody that could do it for a reasonable price, but it can be done.
