Well at least you got a really good deal and the dealership is getting screwed. With the STi coming out EXACTLY as the magazines and internet car sites predicted I doubt the MR will be that much off.

Damn man I cant believe those prices. Here in the Netherlands with all kinds of taxes you pay +/_ $67.000 dollar for a IX. The VIII was the first Evolution wich was officially sold in the Netherlands, it went for +/_ $73.000 I'm coming to america, i can buy 2 for the price of one The X as far as i heard from my dealer will be similar priced as the IX over here.

Car prices never directly follow suit when it comes to currency exchange. The BMW M3 in London is 50,000 pounds starting and will most likely start @ $60k USD. In fact currency exchange hardly ever directly translates unless you live in a providence with an outrageous car tax, which probably exist to prevent you from buying imported vehicles.

Overthrow your gov't and you'll most likely get the same prices we do if import tax is raising the price.

Yeah, I feel thats the most likely thing to happen. But, maybe it turns out to be pretty good over all. Good enough to complete Mitsu's task to attract more customers. If thats the case, it should have a steady price for a while.

Besides the people on EvoM, i have not seen one automotive magazine that did not love the X. Even in the reviews and videos where it just falls short of the IX and STI, everything has been positive.

^^Hm... So if most people love it why do the main EVO fans seem so unhappy with it?

i don't understand how ppl can hate it when most haven't seen it in person or driven it yet?

all in all, my contract states if there is any changes to the car (including price) it will be adjusted. if it happens to actually cost 39k without tax, then i can at least argue i signed for 38k and since its on paper i should win that arguement.

i feel i made the right descision. my contract is flexible enough to save myself in most cases and also detailed enough to claim anything if its out of order or w/e.

besides my 3k deposit guarantees me my evo so i can sleep well.

Dont count your chickens before they hatch.. If someone (like me) walks in with money on the table, your car will be unexpectedly delayed.. I say this from example.. Thats exactly what I did at a local (Miami) dealership when the VIII came out. The first day it was there I walked in. They said that they all had deposits on them. I said, here's the money for the car.. They said, which color do you want.. I was the first one to purchase the EVO from the dealer.. But at the same time, I also heard that the MR is being delayed due to additional transmission tuning. This is also coming from Mits reps that I know on a personal level.. But, good luck anyways..
