I got a price and rough date.

I went to one of my local Mitsu dealers and they just didn't seem to know anything of anything. So, I went to another a little further and spoke to two of the managers and one of the sales man.

To make this as short as possible. They told me they will write it up right now guaranteed $37,998 + dealer fees and taxes. Roughly coming out to about 41k

This is for a MR with sound and fast keyless entry/turn on car thingy.

Ofcourse this brings all the MR options such as HID's, fog lamps, large spoiler, suspension, ect, the standards.

Best news I got from them is that the MR and GSR both should be arriving within this month. They HIGHLY doubt it would take longer. In fact, he said a few weeks from today.

He showed me the order form for one of the white MRs with all the above in it and showed me other options one in black and another but, I duno the other's color. They currently have 2 deposits each $5,000.

Now, no dealer has this special hook up to get them a month before anyone, if they do they can't sell till it's time. And, Mitsu just sends a shipment or two or w/e and then the cars are distributed to dealerships according to what they ordered. So ALL dealers should get them around the same time which apparently is no more than a month away.

Also, I was watching him on the computer while he was checking up on all my questions. IM NOT SURE BUT, I saw 34,600 something and then he did some **** and it turned into 37,000 something. Either the 34k is for the GSR or it's what they payed for the MR, (which i doubt). Oh and he said that for me, he wouldn't go over sticker price. If he told me the truth, the MR is 37,998 with dealer fees and some upgrades w/o taxes. If he beefed up the price a bit, then the MR is below 37k... Thats way off the usual 40k estimate... Its on a evo IX lvl in price range.

But yea, I got into it and I signed for that price. Other dealers asured me it was going to be 40k PLUST over sticker that they WILL put. These guys just told me everything straight out and signed it and everything. Official.

You actually believe the dealer has the price and yet Mitsu hasn't released it to the magazines for publication?

Don't be a chump.

Unless you don't care, you should find out what the real MSRP is because you may be paying way too much.

I say , hold on and don't buy 1 yet. They won't sell as well as 8-9, and you will get much better deals later on. Unless you have to have 1 now, than good luck. But from the looks of it, it may end up like the GTO. Lots of car for the price, but not many buyers.

^Yup. He was estimating or guessing. He hardly has a real price.

But if that is the price, I'm liking it....

well we signed for 37,998 if thats the real price its ok compared to the IX, i mean it kinda makes sense for this one to be a little more cause of all the extra stuff.

if mitsu makes it more like the rumored 39, i will have it signed from 37,998 so im safe. i doubt they will go below 36k with the sound technology packg for a MR.

also, we made it clear on paper that if it dont bring everything i asked for, i get a refund of my 3k deposit. so yea i feel my 38k price is fair enough.

all other dealers either didint know **** or told me 40k+ and they will up sticker price. i kinda felt safe with these dudes for 38k. we'll see how it goes, i'll keep you all informed so if i make a mistake or if it works out you can learn to benefit yourselves. =)

38K for the loaded MR with technology package would be Awesome. It would mean 35.5K for the base MR.

Not going to happen. $34K for base GSR and $39K for base MR. You can put that in the bank...

Yes, that would be plenty of awesome, especially with tech pack.

dealer manager told me to call back monday so he can give me a closer estimate as to when the car is coming. im just comparing his attitude to those of other dealers and the man just seems the most honest and helpful. ima lay my trust on him see where it takes me.

oh and FLK, just so you know, this technology packg doesnt have navi system, i didint want it. just wanted speakers with the fast entry key.

i dont know how im going to sleep 3 nights untill then =(

i even got a calender of a buncha evos and the january edition is the X. that will keep me some company in the mean time i guess.

Since you're just speculating, I will counter it by suggesting that you're way off the mark. The X will likely outsell the IX worldwide by a considerable margin. Of course people who put in pre-orders will be paying the most as has been discussed elsewhere in this forum.

Oh and the car is on sale in New Zealand - RRP $63000 NZD for the manual .

Us Canadians get shafted with the tech package. We are forced to get tech pack with the navi, or else we get nothing

thats what i was lead to understand according to posts on the forum. but mitsu ships all sorts of mixes and if you stress it enough, your dealer should be able to take out navi if you dont want it. though some dealers are extremely uptight and strict, still worth a shot.
