Modding potential aside, it's a first year car with a brand new engine with a brand new transmission by a company that has denied warranty service on stock cars.

Have fun.

Ok, all the people who are bashing peoples threads by saying " do you even own an evo" Need to shut up. I am sick and tired of hearing that. Just because my avitar says I own an A4 doesnt mean, thats the only car that ive owned. People think just becasue they own an 03-06 evo, that they are gods gift to the world. The fact is, the 4g63 has been arround for almost 20 years, time to move on. People I swear if I read one more topic about someone bashing the X, I will pull my hair out. THE CAR ISNT OUT YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are all basing our opinions on magazines like car and driver that drive minivans all day. I dont mind some honest opinions, but stupid hater comments need to stop right now. I really would laugh at sooo many of you if this car comes out and its a f'ing monster. All these people on here that are like "omg the car is .4 tenths slower" Need to stfu, man....Sorry for the ranting. I dont think I am going to go on this site anymore. I cant handle the stupid comments from people who have no idea what they are talking about. This site is like the blind leading the bling. BOOOOOOOOO

No the X is not bad at all it just costs too much. and has less horse power than many would have liked to see in it.

The way I see it, the X seems to be more of a lateral move than a performance jump. It is better in some areas and worse in others. This is not really a bad thing but it is disappointing to those that were expecting leaner and meaner. I think we'll see a stronger "race" edition in the future that might appeal more to those folks. For now though, mitsu has to sell cars and needed to address a few things in the evo to do so. The X may not be a legendary evo like perhaps the TME, but it may well lead to the next legend.

The X has lost focus on the grounds that other Evos have travelled. When I say that it's lost focus I don't mean to be completely negative. The car just doesn't involve the driver as much. I'm certain the car will be fun when you call upon it.

It's just not as edgy as the VIII and IX. Track enthusiastswill not like the extra weight.

I just wish The US market would have had the AYC in the '06-'07 IX. That's why all the JDM videos on the net are showing the IX as a better track car, and the USDM IX is testing slightly worse than the X on a track.

I love these sayings. Mitsu is making a BETTER and more advanced car than ever before! One that goes faster around the track, and easier at that. And then they COMPLAIN!!! AMAZING!!!

It is true....you can't please everyone.

Why in the world wouldn't you want a car that is easier to drive?

If you want a car that's easier to drive Buy a Cadillac STS.

Don't use the terms "better" and "more advanced" as if they were the same thing.
More advanced, yes. Better, well that all depends on what you're looking for. If I wanted a car with an automatic and navigation and better ride quality..... I would not have bought a IX.

So out of all these post only 3 of you have an EVO as of right now? right? And to me it looks like the ones who do have them are up in the air about it.

If you have a VIII or a IX you would understand the negtivity.

I am keeping my IX

Well, in a certain way the 4G63 WAS broken. That is according to our government overlords. The 4G is a very dirty engine which spews more then it's share of harmful deposits into the air. For Mitsu. the decision was to either keep it and pay massive fines or to replace the 20 year old engine design. What would you have done?

That's an idiotic statement. So you're saying you'd rather drive an Evo 1 rather than an Evo 9? I am sure the Evo 9 is easier to drive!!!! Why don't you get an Evo 1 with less technology that requires MORE DRIVER INPUT because that's what you like!!!

I was referring the the more advanced and BETTER drivetrain that makes it easier to drive. See if anyone in this ENTIRE message board doesn't want SAWC and AYC???

Here is a quote from the Edmunds review.....and WHY WOULDN'T you want this again????
"For that test, the new car's AYC is a magic bullet. On our 200-foot circle it allows the Evo X's rear end to step out slightly and stay there all the way around the pad. There's no need for steering input at all. Meanwhile, the car's front tires are pulling the sedan around at an amazing clip. The resulting 0.99g performance is nearly as good as production cars get."

Less driver input is exactly why I don't like it. If you're purchasing the street version of a "rally car" with sports car like reflexes, handling, and acceleration, I want the closest you can get to that "rally car" but street legal.

If you look good going around a track because the car is that good, congratulations on the purchase.
If you look good going around a track because you are driving the car for all it's worth and making it look that good, congratulations on your skill.

If the car has just enough technology to help you out when the going gets tough. That's perfect.
If the car cradles you and doesn't let you ride that fine line between trouble and control, then what fun is that?

It's all in what you're looking for in the end.
If you want the "name", buy one.
Any real car guy will see the new version as watering down the whiskey.
I'll take a straight shot any day to that.

And yes, I would love to have one of each generation from I-IX. I'll stop there.

I don't know about you, but I do know that most of the people around here wouldn't be able to handle a car that is close to the real feel of a rally car on the street for daily driving! And I mean daily driving all year long from the hot steamy summer days to the snow covered roads. You probably think that you (not the original poster, but general public) are sooo good that you can actually handle such a beast every day, but lots of people who know what that means will strongly disagree with you!

If you would even get a "real" thing to drive on the street you would ever have to drive it like a granny or you would loose your license sooner that you want to think about it. So, for the real deal get your self a car and modify it for the race track of your choice and enjoy it over there. For the street use, the current level of performance from the either of the USDM EVOs are more then enough!

Retired the beast before it became a '74 Mustang II?

This is so much fun....

X = Unknown - At least I knew what I was getting based off of over a decade of trial and error with the 4G63. BTW have fun waiting on your aftermarket

Please go and buy the X, I think it would look great in my rear view mirror and the STi I am beating. I mean who else if going to be the film car?

That's fine I guess you havn't heard but after market parts are already out and the car isin't even being sold here yet. Yep keep on hating.

About the rear view mirror commet, yep you are faster in a straight line but I will be enjoying my quiet interior as I'm talking to my girl.

Last but not least if people really wanted the IX instead of the X they can still buy it. It's not like there isin't planty of them going for sale. Oh look there is about 5 of them for sale in a 50 mile radius from me (only counting private sellers not dealers). Just stop hating if you like your IX why hate on the X you should be happy you have a faster car. So please stop waisting your time posting hate threads becasue it's making you look immature.
