You can't have it both ways. If you get your feelings hurt that easily because people talk trash about a car you don't own, then that's just too bad because you know people will continue to bash the car. So, just deal with it

 

There is a lot of speculation going on from all sides. Whatr we know is that it is different and intentionally so. Mitsu still claims that the soul of the evo is still there and in nearly every way it is an evolved and improved. Have driven the new lancer, I can say that the chassis improvements are noticeable. However, as from opinions on styling, its hard to judge from this point. Even the pricing being thrown around is not confirmed.

However, in a very short time, both SPT and I will be testing the X to hopefully give you and inside opinion of the car from two people that love the previous generations but see hope in the X. We will make a thread about the test shortly to get a list of things everyone would like to know more detail about.

 

Not exactly...we need to cut off the bashing. I have said countless times it is mostly speculation at this point and we never like random bashing anyways. If you can make an educated and constructive comment, negative or positive, great. If not, don't bother. There is far to much bandwagon hating going on from people that just don't know(not to say you are one of them). We merged a thread for all the people that jsut have to be negative, so stick em in there if you have to and let the people that have some actual interest in the car discuss it in a constructive manner

 

I guess I stand corrected. I agree that the uneducated posts are getting somewhat out of control and most of them are silly. Most people don't do their research about the car and just post something that doesn't make any sense. But, we all know the uneducated speculation is going both ways. So, should we single out the uneducated guys who post about loving the car?

I guess I come from a place where open discussion and debate is healthy. The overwhelming majority of folks on this site are smart enough to know when someone is making a good point or a completely pointless bashing/loving statement. IMHO, to censor one side and lock them up in a single thread is doing a disservice to the members of this site. Open debate is healthy. That's why I created this thread.

 

Give me an example of an uneducated post with the exception of "X is awsome" and compair them to the haters threads. There is no animosity in the threads that like evo X until the haters show up. I don't see a point about people bashing for no reason if there is a discussion about what the car can do thats fine if you have some negatives. But keep your "X SUCKS", "4g63 fo life" mentality out of the threads.

My favorite is "if it's not 4g63 it's crap". I guess if we never designed new engines we would still be riding around in ford model T's

I do not have a problem with open discussion, and like I said if this was a "tell me why you like the EVO X" thread then you would not see me post my dislikes about the X there.

But I guess once again I have to make it clear that this thread asked for public opinion, and that’s what it got from me. If someone wanted to start talking down to me because they do not like my opinion (when it was asked for) your darn right I am going to defend my stance on the topic. I am not on here telling them they can’t like the X, I am just stating why I don’t.

Also everything I have said has been backed up with FACTS that are current as of now on the X, such as road test, magazine reviews and so on. So until I see some road testing that PROVES the X is better than the IX then ill shut up. But so far it’s not, in fact how come when other manufactures upgrade their product lines to the next generation there are 99% of the time power increases and weight drops ect. On the new models? With the X it just seems backwards.

You do not want to even know how much faith I had in the X until it starting heading for production. With looks and performance mitsu has let me down PERIOD.

 

my comments weren't about u but the forums in general. you can't have a legit X discussion nowadays without haters interjecting useless comments based solely on what they prefer.

Absolutely right. Stupid pro X comments dont help either. Stupid comments in general dont help. And while most readers can see the difference, these comments are still detrimental to the productiveness of the conversations and make them less clear to read and get involved in. They also have a tendency to pull the conversation off track like we are doing now. I only comment on the negative ones because that seems to be the majority of the problem posts.
