Is the X a chick car
No doubt that the pre-x evolution are pure guy cars. But do you think the X will be a chick car. By chick car i mean do you expect to see a girl driving it as you pull up to it.
here is my example... When the nissan 240sx first came out back in 89 I had one of these. Never knowing what a girl car really was. But soon after buying it I noticed a surge of guys always trying to catch up to me to see who was driving. Once the noticed it was a dude they would just pull back to normal speed. This made me feel very gay and violated.

Not sure if it will be a "chick" car or not, but it's certainly a car for the masses.
It's attractive in it's generic presentation.
It's civil.
It should be safer given the SAB's.
My wife is now looking for a car, and the X is a strong consideration for her versus the Audi and BMW.
(Doesn't hurt that she loves to drive my IX when she gets the chance, despite it's harshness)
Personally, I would love for her to get the X. I think it would be great for her to come out to a track day with me and have fun as a family

Huh? Massive brembo brakes, look at me spoiler, S-AWC, 245/40R18 Yokohamas, Recaro bucket seats, and AYC. You are so right, nothing right there is race inspired
.
Oh I get it, because it is heavier and a couple of tenths slower in the 1/4 mile means it is no longer race inspired. Cry me a freakin' river

I wouldn't necessarily call it a chick car, but as others have pointed out, it's a far more accessible one.
Back in the day a buddy of mine worked as a car salesman (ironically he quit because he couldn't stand being told to lie to people) and would get 3-4 teenagers everyday drooling over the Evos. This was around the time 2 Fast 2 Furious had been released, so a bunch of people that knew nothing about them flocked to Mitsubishi stealerships hoping for a test drive.
Many times I would be there shooting the sh*t with him, and at least three times that I can recall a teenager (well, two teenagers, one guy was probably a bit older) showed up inquiring about the Evos. He gave them the run through, showed them that oooh so attractive "2 Fast 2 Furious" tag in the back window, and told them all about it. All three of these guys pretended like they really knew the car, asking if there was a V6 and why there wasn't ("Hey man, no replacement for displacement! haha!"), acting surprised that there was no cruise control, and then came the kicker. They all asked in a different way, but all three were shocked there was no automatic model. To be honest I think only one admitted he did not know how to drive it, and did not want to learn on such an expensive car, but I think it's safe to say the other two didn't know either.
My point is, the X will open the door to a new audience and we'll see all sorts of people behind the wheel of an Evo. Great for Mitsubishi, bad for folks like me who can't stand the thought of someone doing the gangsta lean while riding on chrome 20's in an Evo...
