I was just at the Detroit show yesterday and I was incredibly displeased with the new STi. The phantom black MR Mitsubishi had was absolutely gorgeous...
the red STi was ridiculously boring looking.

I didn't even realize i was looking at the STi until i noticed the logo on the wheels. I guess if you're into the idea of a car that will receive less attention the STi would be the better choice.

On a side note, the WRC version of the STi looked wonderful...with the exception of the disgusting tail lights.

The STI actually looked better in person, to me at least, than it did in all the online photos. The GSR definitely needs the SSS package as standard though. Base GSR's look too similar to a GTS.

Diff. colors on the STi make the car look completley different.
For example, the red hides the body lines. Where as the Blue makes them POP out.

As for power, yes the new STi got 12HP and 5TQ more over last years.
The biggest thing is that the new chassis is stiffer and the new suspension handles much better then the old model.

But as stated earlier, get what car suites your needs. If you are into the outdoors the STI might be a better choice.
If you enjoy the attention and the sporty look the X might be a better.

Eather way both cars will perform, and both can do the same things that the other can. It just depends on what car you want in the end.

STI has more power and Evo weighs 200 lbs. more. You decide.

Plust the gse was loaded with options to the tune of 40K OUCH

I looked at all the X's that Eugene Mitsu had on order, every single one of them except for one MR had been ordered with every available option.
I'll let those sit on their lot for about 6 months before I go back to look. I am having trouble with the idea that my current evo cost 28,000 brand new, and 2 years later I can't get into another new one for less than 40!!

I wanted to go with the X I though untill I saw it. The gray STI is way under the radar. I will be 35 this year and am getting out of the boy racer image ( even tho I have an sr20det powered 510 ). If I bought one now it would be the STI. If I got an evo it would be a IX se.

As someone who wants the car as a daily driver, practical with some fun on the side I'm leaning towards the STI. If I was interested in performance I would get the evo. I want the extra room, head room, more comfy seats, and torque.
