Well I want a car that handles better and is faster than the STI. And dont have the money to spend on a new GTR, and srart upgrading it after that. I'm not a drag racer. I do want to take it to an occasional track day. You know your adverage every day daily driven, caged, four door with 800+ on C16.
On occasion, I roll with the SECC. "Scottsdale Exotic Car Club" they run;
Lamborghini's
Enzo's
F40/50's
SLR's
Saleen S7 Twin Turbo's
Carrara GT's
Zonda's
And more, you get the idea. It realy upsets those guys, when your 30k STI flat out accelerates almost all of the listed above. I just dont have the top end that they do.
I need something that has 600/800whp, handles, accelerates hard, brakes good, and can still take my kids to school.

after reading this, you definitely need the IX, modified please with toppings
I'll still have my 6spd STI.
I wasnt sure if the sst would be worth the 7k over the GSR I sat in. And listening to all that have responded. I think choosing isnt any easier.
I've ridden in acouple high hp cars with paddle shifters, and now I would like a car with that type of shifting, and have the option to use the auto.

In that case, it's hard to give a firm recommendation based on what you want.
1) You want faster than an STI. The IX is faster, the X is slower (marginally, but still slower).
2) You want a car that handles better than an STI. Both the IX and X deliver that. The X seems to have a slight edge in skidpad numbers, but the IX is faster on a track. Pick your poison there.
3) You don't drag race, but do the occasional track day. Both the IX and X deliver that, but all the magazines say the IX is the better track star because of it's more raw feel.
4) You will daily drive it. The X will be the winner here.
5) You want 600-800hp. The IX is the better choice right now at this moment because it's been proven with the 4G63 to get to those power levels. The jury is still out on the X's 4B11t since noone has been able to mod the heck out of it and see what it can handle. So, you can choose a proven engine or you can place a bet that the X will be able to match the 4G63.
6) You want something that brakes hard. Both IX and X do with a slight edge to the X.
7) Need to take the kids to school. Either car will do that, although the X will likely have better side crash ratings so it should be a little bit safer than the IX.
This is all my opinion, but most of it is based on facts from all the testing and information available so far.
Hope this helps. Good luck with your choice.

Good advice. I would like to add a few points:
-You don't need 6-800 hp to be faster than most of those cars. 450-500whp will do it and be cheaper and more reliable. 800 is just silly. Too many compromises for that. Lots of lag, bad for anything but drag and dynos. For road course, it would be a major downside.
-Both engines are surely capable of the power, but everything is readily available for the IX right now, where you will have to wait for the X
-The SST tranny is no good for 6-800 hp. Much better off with a GSR. That goes for the IX as well as the 5spd is a better candidate. First indications are the the SST will probably be good for up to about 500lb ft torque at the engine , although that is an educated guess
Based on what you have said, my advice would be to rethink how much power you really need. And as far as cars, I would probably say for the immediate future, the IX GSR or MR is a better choice, and if you want a X, go with the GSR. MR is really out of the question for you

Thats all great advice Thank you for all the GREAT info!!!!!!

That's a very bold statement......by "new", do you mean brand new with less than 100 miles? I doubt you will find that in the country......
If you do, please let me know...I am looking for one.

EVO X has proven faster around the track several times already. IX may feel more raw but, X still beats it around the course. And yeah, X is slightly slower than both the STI and IX on the straight aways. Also, if you want the 800hp you might wanna go with the IX because the X hasn't been tuned enough to know if it's even possible.

The Best Motoring videos all show that the IX is faster around a track. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=311103 This link is a discussion on EvoM about the Best Motoring videos.
The tests by Edmunds.com show the IX is faster around a track. http://www.edmunds.com/apps/vdpconta...6/pageNumber=1 Scroll down to the section of the article that says "No.1 at Willow."
The Motortrend tests also show the IX is faster around a track. http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...onclusion.html Read the first paragraph from this review.
I'm not trying to start an argument since all of this has been discussed many, many times already. Just wanted to post some links with articles. And in each of them the IX wins.
If you have a link to an article where the X wins, please post since I'm sure all of us would like to read it
Not an article, but this proves we are getting some mixed reviews.
