I read this in Motor trend mag don't think this is a repost. i am going to chicago autoshow friday and they have callet Mitsu RA compact coupe. 310lb/tq and 210ps??? and extensive use of carbon fiber very light

Does anyone know what this is i am very interested in this

I think mitsu can kill acura RDX , X3, or any other small SUVs if it brings Montero AWD with evoX engine

You know, it seems Mitsubishi is really competing with everyone now.

The Lancer vs Corrola, Mazda 3, Civic, etc..

The Lancer RA vs the WRX, 135i, etc....

The Evo vs 335i, Audi, etc...

And now their SUV line and other concept cars including the Eclipse!

Isn't that the Concept-RA that they showed at Detroit as well? There's threads all over about it.

Maybe this is to replace the Eclipse? Unless we get a TC/AWD-Eclipse

Diesel? I mean it's cool, but it's a typical diesel with good torgue and no horsepower. Not the best recipe for a sports car, if you ask me. Looks cool, though.

In that case, awesome. I hope it keeps it's aggressive stance.

Montero with Evo X engine????? You would get about 8 MPG with that engine in a Montero. Montero is a heavy beast and not really built for speed, it's an off-road warrior. They do offer the new Pajero in Europe with a 3.8l engine (the same engine as in current US spec Eclipse) and there is also a 3.2l 4 cylinder turbo-diesel that offers massive torque (something that an offroader is supposed to have). If anything, I would like to see a turbocharged/supercharged 3.8l engine in a Monero, bigger displacement would have easier time moving all that body mass.

As far as Concept RA goes, it's supposed to preview the next generation Eclipse I guess or Mitsubishi wants to use the new Lancer platform and create a Lancer Coupe maybe? And as far as the use of carbon fiber for weight reduction, I am more than sure every car company would love to offer this and make their cars lighter but then again an average Mitsubishi car wouldn't cost $20K but would become much more expensive. But I think soon we will see weight reduction measures in all car manufacturers, they all realize the problem but they have to comply to safety standards while not increasing prices too much.

^What's wrong with 8mpg? Haha, you'd fit right in with the Nissan SUV's and Hummers.
