Streets of San Francisco Su*K

It takes some getting used to driving the new Evo X in San Francisco. The roads in the City are ****.

I was driving up 2nd or 3rd yesterday south of Market to get on the Bay Bridge and there was a whole section of concrete missing in the road. I didn't see it until the last minute and it went across the whole lane I was in, although much deeper on the left side. I couldn't swerve to avoid it so I gritted my teeth and slammed it with the left front. It was almost the equivelent of hitting a vertical curb head on at 35mph. When I got to my destination I checked the wheel thinking that it must be bent. To my surprise, no bent wheel and the car drives fine so I don't think I messed up the aligment. I'm glad I still have the stock suspension with all the travel. It bottomed hard but the Volk CE28N took it. I guess that's why you pay $700 a wheel.

I raised the stock 31 psi filled tires to 36 psi cold in my Evo X. Also gets rid of some of the squishyness when you corner hard.

At least you weren't going down one of those huge hills in Chinatown when you ran into the hole. That would have really jacked things up.

I agree, I cringe every time I take the car out, if it's not the streets, it's the driveways...

If In-N-Out went national, it would KILL McDonalds, and I love that Idea.

its like 7 am, and I'm already craving a burger now.

SF has never been a great town for tuners, but I heard the wine makers in Napa make some crazy customs

About the same thing happened to me in the OZ Rally, but I acquired a slow leak in my Yokohama...but the OZ was in perfect shape. Not so luck was a lady in a Volvo wagon that must have hit the same hole, she was pulled over to the right shoulder with a front flat in the rain! D@mn SCDOT!
