Wasn't there 4 Evo X MR cars at South Coast Mitsubishi? I too stopped by and saw them. I remember seeing the following:

1 white
1 red
1 black
1 silver

Not sure where the 5th one was however.

On a side note the Wicked White looked pretty hot.

It's a crying shame those MR cars will be completely totaled due to liability issues though. They can't even be parted out. Such a shame.

I spoke to a dealer today who had 2 gsr's on the lot. This was in davenport iowa, located about 3hrs away from chicago, anywho, either way, he said we wouldn't be seeing any mr's until may 11th.

I don't know if I should grab a gsr...or wait for an mr...or find a different gen evo all together that is cheaper etc.

So many choices, its tuff to say. I am paying cash out right for the car so im not really concerned about money, but I don't want to "waste" any of it ya know.

LOL! Some may say that it is a waste to buy the car outright with cash. You're losing too much but if you're loaded or have the means, more power to you. I bought an e46 M3 in cash back in 2001 but I will never buy a car with cash again. Too big of hit.

The MR supposedly hasn't been released to any dealers yet. Some "demo" pre-production cars are floating around at MMNA as the OP noted. But no production cars at dealers yet. Well, at least based on everything we've been told so far. I think the last I read, the earliest the MRs would be at dealers with be late March or early April. And some parts of the country may not see the MR until June

EDIT: I just checked South Coast's thread here on EvoM and they don't make any mention of having any MRs in inventory. If they had any, they would be shouting it from the mountain tops. I think the other things we've all been reading about the late spring early summer delays are true.

I realize they don't have any MRs in stock. No one does. They did have four pre-production ones this past weekend though. So people, including myself were able to sit inside them and go through it with a fine tooth comb. Didn't get the opportunity to turn over the engine though.

At South Coast? So they were cool about letting you take one out for a spin? Who did you deal with?

What do you mean parted out? You referring to those pre-productions? If so, they are NOT being parted out. They are being absolutely and completely destroyed as in trash compactor style. Not even the wheels or any part can be saved. Mitsu is held liable for anything that happens to these cars. From my understanding this is very common and not limited to Mitsu. All manufacturers have to adhere to this.

Oh and if I'm talking out of my @ss about the wrong subject, I apologize
