5 speed optional shift knob vs Standard Leather one

I am considering buying the optional 5 speed aluminum shift knob for my new Evo X. The one that comes with the "Interior Appearance Package". For those that have this on there X, does it fit your hand well. Maybe you tried or sat in a car with and with out the upgraded shift knob. If so give your opinion on which one seems to fit your hand better.

Also looking at the E-brake handle. It looks very nice. Not sure if its worth the $200 premium it requires to purchase afterwards.

Thanks,
Brian

Hey Turbodawg, I know you asked me this question in another thread and I ment to get back to you but my interet has been down at home and I have to wait to get to work to get on. I like the knob and e-brake handle, looks and feels great. Adds some style to the all black center section of the car. But it is not worth the price tag!! Get something aftermarket and save yourself the $$. The only reason I got it because it was already on the car.

The ebrake handle especially looks nice. Is it aluminum and carbon fiber or aluminum and leather? The MSRP on the interior appearance package is $399 (not sure what invoice price is on it, my guess is $340 to $350). You can buy the shift knob for $110 or so, and the shift knob for about $210, with free shipping from Russel at Mitsuparts . So the pair is ~$320 or so. Thats high, but they do look nice, and at those prices, I believe its cheaper than buying them already on the car, which is usually not the case.

Scott, I figured you just didnt see the question, or just forgot to reply back to it. No problem. At least you answered it now.

There are plenty of nice looking shift knobs in the aftermarket, but finding one that is nice looking and has a good feel maybe harder to find. I need to have one that feels right when shifting.

Agreed def not wortht he $500 dollars option if i remember correctly you can get some nice stuff for 500 in terms of a shift knob but I will agree that the e-brake handle is decent looking.

I think the aluminum knob is way better then the stock black ball you get otherwise. The stuff also sets the interior off very nicely.

My prices were wrong on the parts after the fact.

$195.44 for the Ebrake handle (free shipping)
$114.94 for the 5 speed aluminum shift knob.

So total is $310.38 for both.

Can anyone verify that it is aluminum/carbon or aluminum/leather on the ebrake handle?

Brian
