Hahahaha no way is that true. And just because you dont read or actively post on the forum doesnt mean you arent modding your evo.

I would really hang onto that piece of paper that says you have that warranty.

There is no cost. Yes its free you get a ID# and a special link to a page.
punch in the id# then fill everything in.

It works both ways, Just because some people here actively read this forum
doesnt mean they mod their car. I was thinking more in terms of modding a car to the point that you cant take it to the dealership. Simple airbox to cone filter dont really count, it only take like 10 min to put that back to stock.

I disagree, modding is modding. Anyone could technically return their car back to stock. I would say 85% of evo owners have some sort of modification to their cars. Warranty voiding or not is up to the dealership you go to and if the guy looking at your car is in a good mood or not.

85%? I think that's kind of high. Not everyone lives in the east and west coast
where there is a tunning shop right around the corner.

Why would the limited powertrain warranty be non-transferable?

What does a tuning shop have to do with modding? Plus with mail in tunes you dont even need a tuner or dyno to be on site. Just a nice stretch of road. And I would say a large majority of the evos live in the east and west coast, the remainder being in the southern states.

The VIII and IX 100k mile warranty was non-transferable as well. It would go down to 6year 60k.

Warranty Letter Is An Error!

Just got off the phone with Mitsubishi. The letter we received is an error. The warranty is 3/36 bumper to bumper and 5/60k drivetrain. My guess is that Mitsubishi will eat their mistake and honor the extended warranty for those of us that received this letter. I will keep you posted. EVERYONE PLEASE CALL MITSUBISHI. THIS WILL MAKE THEM REALIZE WHAT A HUGE MISTAKE IN DISCLOSURE THIS IS AND FORCE THEM TO HONOR THEIR WRITTEN WORD!

If they dont they better send us something nice. like a Jacket, Hat with a sorry letter. I did Take 15min of my own time to Register and Did their little survey.
You receive a letter wanting you to do all these little things for them. And turn out
they dont honor anything written on it. you would be a little upset to. if you read this I wear a Size Small TNX.

Maybe you guys are right. I give up, we are just talking about thing with no facts.
so ill stop here. No one really know what % is stock vs mods

I guess aftermarket Stereo would be a mod to.
aftermarket rim would count as modding to.
If you break pad wears down, and you don’t go with oem brembo,
I guess that would be modding aswell. same with oem clutches and rotors.
