Engine stutter problem

If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it. I just recently hit my 1000 mile mark, so I have been able to push my car. Then I found a problem of some sort.
When I accelerate pretty hard shifting from 1rst to 2ndI have no problems all the way up to 7K RPM, even 7500RPM. But when I reach about 6000-6500rpm in 2nd or 3rd fast the motor hit a cut off of some sort. The whole car starts stuttering. To me it seems like either the car isn't receiving fuel or hitting a spark anymore. If I back of the gas a little and ease back on it, it is fine.
Any help?
-Dave

It may be a fuel cut for boost spiking issue if the X's come with it. Ask the dealer, thats the joy of WARRENTY!!!!!!!

Is it all the time or when you are lower on fuel?

My car did that too...

When I floored it on 3rd gear, around 5000 to 6000 rpm, the car stuttered. I drove my car about 1,000 miles, and the problem seems to have dissipated. Now, it's running pretty good. I think it's because the car is running too rich (I'm no expert in cars, just guessing). If you look at those dyno graphs of stock EVO X, you can see that torque curb drops dramatically around 5000 rpm.

I have a mbc and filter when I started putting the pedal down and still had the same issue. Another member said after he ran the car for a while at the track the computer learned to tune itself and it ran great. So i have been running the car harder when I can and it does seem to be getting alot better know.

+1

My stuttered the within the first 485-692 miles, on and off, and now it just went away.

Keep in mind the X has a break in program that runs to something like 1200-1500 miles

I don't think he's talking about the break in period...if I'm not mistaken, he's talking about some ECU trickery that occurs until 1200-1500 miles.

what youre describing is the sputtering that occurs on some of the X's out there at WOT.

Its a problem that Mitsu is aware of. There should be a flash sometime at the end of this month or mid-april. Check with your local dealer about the flash...

Mine is doing the same thing.
