I just pulled off the front tow bar strap cover to discover that there is no hole. I guess the ones on the photos were drilled and tapped. Seems like to much work for a tow strap.

I was even thinking of using one of these when the strap was not being used.

what i'm using is very easy to remove if you want to take the front bumper off . It is a screw on type , and the base is welded to the front crash beam.
the screw coming thrue the mash. Also very very light.
And Porsche quality.

Is there a place on the X that we could just drill and tap to thread one of these on? Would the crash beam support that?

I hate to bump an old thread, but has anyone come up with a better brand of tow hook thats a direct install or people just drilling and tapping it.

I would like to know this too. It seems no real solution has been mentioned lately. An ineffective tow hook renders it useless for track safety purposes.

Tow hooks for looks.

that is what we will do tomorrow.

I will put it on, on the front crash beam.
