If <$30k is your price range...by the time you will be able to find a used X at that price you could probably be able to save over $30k and buy new.

I kind of agree maximZ.. I feel like its one of those things where depreciation of my current car, savings (evo fund), evo prices, etc. eventually cross. We'll have to see which comes first. Seems like with the economy (and this really isn't a *good* thing), some people might have to sell cars pretty soon or dealers might have to try hard to move them.

Ha-ha, you guys should check the $$$ rate against other currencies. If things continue like that, then soon for 30K you'll be lucky to get a bicycle. )))

not to get 2 economic or political

i hope not, but then again, i would not be surprised if by the time the 09 models start showing up at dealerships at the end of summer, the msrp will be around 500USD more due to devaluation of the USD against the yen.

then you take into consideration crazy cost increases on the raw materials and energy due to high demand from none other than China, the cost of making cars goes up, manufacturers can only absorb these for so long.

then, if democrats take over the presidency, our taxes and fees will go up accross the board , oh boy,...(flame suit is on)

sounds like fun, if i were to make decision about buying one, it would be to do it NOW

I am not sure how

37k for everything including NAVI. I DEFINITLY don't see below 30k prices on these cars within 6 months. Sorry.

Won't give a time table but if we are in a reccession and gas keeps going up and the economy keeps tanking, Evo's will drop. Trust me. No one is really doing to good right now for car sales. And mitsu is on the bottom as always. I'll be waiting when they are rolling off the lot for less than 30k . You can't deny what is going on with the US economy

dem or rep it makes no diff. If our economy keeps going down i think we will have more to think about than getting a evo for under30k

No argument here, but not within six months. If the economy keeps tanking than everything will start to roll out for cheaper and cheaper.

Exactly, I'm gonna fear for my future kids who have to find jobs, go to school, and my family. I couldn't care less if the cars get cheap when the economy tanks.

Lets not start a political debate here, the economy is going to come back up eventually. Besides its not even close to start worrying, so lets keep this about the over priced EVO X.

+1 for Florida being the worst place to buy a new car. Delray Mitsubishi in South FL is sitting on 9 Exo X's. Most have SSS package and 1 is base with no options and the one in the show room is loaded. They had them marked up almost 6k but sold none and now have them back at MSRP and they still have sold none. The Subaru dealer right next store has 2 STi's both marked up $6k...The salesman told me the STi's are harder to get. Yeah right...

I think I'm gonna wait till the 2009 models come out for both X's and STi's and decide then if I'm going to trade in my 2006 WRX on one...hopefully by then the paint issues will be resolved and we will have a better idea of reliability on them.

I was gonna lease an X for 3 years so I could get rid of it before the warranty expires but the residual and money factor on the X is pretty bad. Payment would of been so high it would of been better to just finance it.

ok mr. moderator

actually, state of economy and politics has everything to do with everything, so i dont see how thats off topic, now if i was discussing the polar caps melting, that would be different but then again,..

i could say that they are melting because of pollution, caused by cars, that burn too much gas, which is what the oil people want, and they use political influence to keep this going, an on,..

newsflash, gas prices in europe for example are an equivalent of 8USD/gallon, i would like to know how many people could careless about that, if i had to pay that much i would be looking for vw polo turbo-diesel that gets 70+mpg and puts prius to shame next, oh i forgot diesel prices are higher that gas in us, which is the reverse of what it should be, perhaps so that diesel technology doesnt come back too soon, so that the oil moguls can make a lot of money fast from us americans burning through gas like crazy.

so what does this have to do with price of evo you ask? well at least 8USD/gallon is relevant, it will make me want to sell you mine really fast, the only problem is that i have a 9.

enjoy

I ordered from South Coast last week and waited a bit for a white GSR with no options to arrive. Took a couple days for the car to arrive in CA. Out the door price from South Coast was like $30,676, and shipping was $775 (but I bought the expensive insurance option), for a grand total of $31,451. I still have to pay NC tax once it arrives, or course.

None of the dealers here in the Raleigh are dealing on price, and they only have one red base GSR, the other cars are loaded and nearly $40k. No cars in white which is what I wanted. Leith Mitsubishi had/has like 3 or 4 of them, and they are just sitting. I told tham what I was willing to pay and they said "come in tomorrow and we can make a deal". So the next day when I got there the best they would do was $300 under MSRP. And I had cash in hand, not much more simple of a deal than that.

Anyway, South Coast is really selling the EvoX for thier advertised price. I had a different dealer on this website say they would match the price, and then not match it once they saw South Coast's advertisement.
