Trunk Lid Problem

As I was washing my car today I noticed nicks on both sides of my trunk lid. They are on the corner where the trunk meets the body of the car. I think somehow the weight of the lid causes the corners to hit each other when closing the trunk. I don’t slam it shut, I actually close it very softly. Any of you notice this? I am pretty pissed about this, another thing to try and get fixed.

I took pic with camera phone but not very clear at all.

I have something like that going on to the bottom of my trunk lid.

Just went out and checked mine and I dont even see how it would be possible. Mine is not even close. Now take in mind though that I have only opened and shut my trunk maybe 10 times.

I use mine daily, and unfortunately, it's kind of hard for me to close my trunk without slamming it. It's a pretty tough trunk.

I had that issue on my VIII. It was caused by the track time I had done. Lots of body flexing I guess. I have only taken it out to track once so far, and I don't have these marks yet.

^ Yea so true...I am going to see if my clubs fit in it on tuesday when I go golf. Also I noticed that when the trunk is open the hinges are so long that the trunk is flimsy.
