yeah I am tearing apart from the color choices between white or blue. I was so dead set on the white with most of the members here have it with pictures but recently the more I saw the blue I more I like it! argh!

Before I looked into Mitsubishi I remember I went to Renicks Subaru and the guy named Alan or something tried to scare me away from the STi. He said the cars price fluctuates depending on "Managers Feeling of the day", and said today was a good day so he would give me 200 dollars off. He then rambled and said he knew I was looking into buying an Evo or STi to be different? ( ) so he said the truly different and POWERFUL car was the Legacy Spec B. He was obviously trying to sell me a car that didn't sell too well because he added a bunch of BS...saying stuff like it was faster than the STi with an easy small tune..

Anyways I think I will either pick up the Evo X or 9 soon! Unsure about the color though...
When you do go into buy I highly recommend you contact the dealer you plan to use over the Internet. I found I was treated MUCH better when I contacted a dealer via the 'contact me' part on the dealer's website than when I just walked in the door.

I guess most of the time doing it via the Internet I dealt with Fleet/Internet Sales which didn't seem to play games as opposed to whatever salesperson got to me first and whatever game they wanted to play that day. I know not all dealers are like that but it seemed to always be like that when I was looking for my STi.

Also $500/mo for insurance is INSANE! That's $6k a year! What kind of a driving record do you have? I would seriously reconsider what you are doing. You may need to get a cheaper car and drive it for a year or two, or switch insurance companies but throwing $6k/yr away for insurance is nuts!

The Spec B is a nice car but yes, it's no STi. They probably had a few of them sitting on the lot and are trying to move them since the new STi is probably what's bringing a lot of people to the dealership.

Another question..

What are the real differences in appearance between the Lancer GTS and the Evo? I know that the Wing/Hood/Front is different but it does not seem that dramatically different...Like the Evo9 was to its generation Lancer..

I find it hilarious when people consider the X slow because it's does 0-60 2 tenths of a second slower than the model it replaces! The blue does rock but the phantom black pearl is calling my name. (GOD WILLING) come April 18th I'll be setting in a new X! As for the insurance, I pay 489 every 6 months on April 25 I turn 25, it goes down to 269 every 6 months! My agent said I might see a 15 dollar price difference between the GTS and X.

No way in my mind is the X slower! Its faster in my opinion...Take it for a spin around a right turn...The grip is INSANE. How the hell did they make such a great handling car like this!? And I thought the RX8/S2k had the handling department covered...Cant even compare...

Well I bought the Evo!!
Pics will soon follow..

Octane Blue Evo X GSR This is my first standard manual car. I bought it last night..drove it home and had a blast (Although keeping below 4-5k RPM). Today I practiced more but man Im doing well with everything BUT starting from a steep hill.. The sad thing is my house is on a hill, my school is on a hill(with huge traffic on the hill..) . Any pointers? I tried the E Brake thing but I didn't like it that much..

BTW I drove a lot today and my avg mpg was 18.2 on the streets!

You would be paying way too much for insurance. Maybe it's time to consider a lower insurance vehicle. That much on insurance is literally like throwing money away every month. Unless you're pulling down $250K a year or come from big money please don't fall into this trap. It's not worth it in the long run.

Oh we found cheaper insurance..I think only 10 dollars more than my 8 was.
Are all clutches this heavy? Or is this even considered heavy?

Go go privatized insurance!! My god some of you get ripped off in the states.
I've never paid more than $1200/yr canadian in registration since the day I started driving, even when I had my '93 Integra, 2dr, registered in the city. In fact that year they gave me a 200 dollar rebate. Manitoba Public Insurance FTW.
Haven't registered my X yet but not expecting it to go over 1500/yr.

Btw to the last question from Aznx, I've been driving stick for 10 years, clutch pressure is something you'll have to get used to.

Thanks Revox..Yeah the insurance here is insane for the Evo but it depends on your age too.
I haven't stalled much but I am so afraid of hills haha

How do you like your OCTANE BLUE EVO? I think the color is wonderful and the damn thing grips the road like a monster.

If you are honeslty going to pay $500 a month for car insurance you crazy. Why would you waste your money like that?

Then again your insurance will probably be $250 a month.....
I don't control my insurance rates and I am only on this plan/company because my insurance is also shared with one of my relatives. It doesn't matter what company I actually go to because they all quoted me high rates because of my accident (airbags deployed, but not totaled) and my age/location. My RX8 was at 450. Evo is at 460 a month.
