Service Engine Soon light from boost controller.

I wanted to see if anyone eles is having this problem. I just want to make sure my car is not messed up. I installed a boost controller and a BOV. I had the BOV at 50% - 50% and it was ok no light. Then i installed the boost controller set it at stock 22psi and the light came on. So i unpluged the battery to clear the flauts, thinking it was my BOV so i change the BOV to 100% recerulating and ran fine for maybe a day and it came on again so now I am thinking its the boost controller. Any one eles having this problem and what do i need to do to fix it thanks,

Since you are running more boost than stock you may be blowing out the spark.

Get some new plugs and gap them to .22-.26 and you should be fine.

Edit: didn't realize this was in the X section. But I would try that first and see. I couldn't hurt.

He is not experiencing spark blow out.
Too much airflow for a given load vs. throttle.
The car will need a tune to fix.

Not quite. cone filter with MBC set @24psi. No CEL so far far for 300 miles. Will report back if I get one.

His issue might be tied to the BOV.

Ok well let me give you a little more info by the way thanks for the quick responce. But i have a Greddy Pro spec B II EBC. And the BOV i did turn it so that it is like the stock one. 100% recurclating and the light is still coming on.

Just want to make sure this is not going to mess up my $34,000 car.

I've had my manual boost controller on for about 700 miles now. No check engine lights caused by it so far. Did you leave the vacuum line hooked up to the stock solenoids? I think the people who left the input side on haven't had any CELs. I could be wrong, but that's how I have it, and I've heard it has worked for others.

Are you getting the CEL when boosting? Or is it just coming on with regular driving? Mine his been poping a CEL when I boost in 5th and sometimes in 4th. Have you got the code read? If so, what is the code. I get a P1235 which some readers don't have the DTC stored but the code refers to is TPS.

To think about it, Blanknotice said to take off the vac hoses to stock solenoids and mines are still there. I will try this after work today.

No, I meant that I still have mine hooked up to the input side of the stock solenoids. I guess you can try disconnecting them though.

Well mine has came one from a 5th gear pull and regular driving. I did have the code read but did take the code number. But pretty much it is just getting to much air. I will see about that vacuum line. Now remember it the Service Eng Soon not eng light soon i dunno.

So is the MBC throwing a engine light or no? I will wait if it is.
