Our Honda Store here in NC does over 300 cars per month total, and sometimes they're up to 500.

Honda's are stupid cheap to lease at times and people will always buy them.

Even at 30k, that's 600/mo to purchase on 60 months w/ no money down. You can lease a lot of really nice cars for 600/mo.

Keep the IX is better stuff in the stickied thread at the top of the forum. We are beyond tired of hearing the same old song.

Not that it isn't a great deal , but I just wonder why they are willing to lose $500 per car sold...
When I bought my X from South Coast, they sent me a pre paid DHL return envelope, and I dropped a check for $33,657 in it ($30,589 plus doc fees and some CA environmental type fee). I didn't get any loyalty or education discounts or rebates or anything. However, those discounts were available, I just didn't qualify per the rules.

If South Coast is selling them, they aren't losing money on them. People for some reason think that the published invoice price is what dealers pay for them. It's not. When dealers buy in volume they can negotiate the pricing lower, just like everyone else, in every other industry. When I was doing to paperwork I was talking to Sam a couple times a week. From my understanding, South Coast was getting a couple trucks full of EvoX's each week. I believe they are buying and selling alot of them.

most definitely. the evo X is a already in the low to mid $30K range and probably 95% of the mitsubishi dealerships all over america are jacking up the price evn more by adding 4,5, even 8K for their mark-ups

Like what most people are saying, it's mainly the mark-ups and the poor economy and high gas prices that are deferring the general MASS population from buying these cars. It's a sports car that only enthusiast are willing to pay for, and I'm willing to buy it no matter what the price.

I don't care about gas prices, I don't care about insurance, and I'm sorry to say, but I can't really seem to care about the ecomony and environment. I will get the EVO X because I love EVOs and this one is, to me in my personal opinion, the best.

And for the fact that not a lot of people are buying them right now, makes it better for me because that way, I'll be the only one around here with it for a long time (hopefully). I like being one of the very few, allows me to stand out from the rest of the crowd.

It's really amusing how the general public (not saying you specifically) are under the impression that cars make up all of the world pollution. The simple fact is that motor vehicles are responsible for less then 10% of the worlds pollution. So all these hybrid cars and "green" cars are in my opinion all a big restarted marketing ploy!

I think a big part of their market segment is perfectly happy with their XIII's and IX's.. I know I am. I'd much rather keep my IX and get a new bike in the next few months than 'upgrade' lol.

That's a good idea. So the salesman makes a ****ty $100 and you make the economy worse. The dealership should sell for MSRP, and not mark up at all.

Customers like you **** me off beyond belief. It doesn't matter what the dealer pays for the car, what matters is what you pay. I understand everyone wants a GREAT deal. But do you understand how you effect things when you nego. to a nothing deal. The dealer makes less money, the salesman makes almost nothing, i'm sure you understand the side effects of that. So slowly all these customers paying invoice or under which is insane are ruining the economy. The customer isn't getting raped if they pay profit.

So here is my advice if your purchasing a new car and you would like to get a good deal and let the dealer/saleman make a fair profit. I do this with almost 70% of my customers.
When shopping for a car ask to see the invoice price. Take the MSRP minus the invoice, thats the gross. Divide the gross then add to the invoice. Thats the price you pay. That's the fairest way for both parties.

Here's an example:

EVO X

MSRP: $36,995
-Invoice: $33,200
Gross: $3,795 divide $1,897.50

Invoice: $33,200 + $1,897.50= $35,097.50 <--That's what you pay.

Sorry for venting

35k for the base GSR for me, is just too much sorry.
I think the evo is the only Mitsubishi is make the factory looking better. So dont sweat on it when you just simply selling the evo. That Evo sale will not makes you millionaire anyway. Even the factory dont give you money if you sell them....
this is why:
You still making enough money on other models like the lancer or the outlander. And because the Evo they reputation is growing too. So sacrifice here and get the benefit from there . This is a good balance i see. Or we can call it as a commercial for the Mitsubishi. And if you selling them on your invoice then we can call it a FREE commercial too
Sorry i had to vent too

The bbyBruno post is so silly I can't stop laughing. If you can purchase a car under invoice, why not. If a dealer can sell below invoice, why give more if he is not asking for it. South Coast purchases hundreds of these cars and they can get better prices than any dealer in the country. How do they do it? Excellent service, no created markups, loyal customers, repeat buyers, you name it. I bet they can sell a car way under invoice and still make a huge profit to offset the new cars because again, they have alot of excellent 8 and 9's for sale. The poifit on used is huge compared to new. Accounting and finance know the numbers and they are not stupid. Why, they control the flow of cash and what they are currently doing is working. Obviously you are unfortunate to live in an area where this is not happening and you fell good giving them your money. That's your decision. I bet they have plans on building a new showroom just for EVO's so they can get more money from economic experts like you. You should have bought a Chevy. Not putting them down since I have owned 5 GM products. Have you supported the economy like me?

Amazing, simply amazing. By the way, you you trade in your 03 so they can make alot of money from the sale of it and buy a new one over invoice. That way you can sit back and feel good about yourself while the others around you invest there money in savings.
