"boost" gauge installed

Hey guys, figured i would post a picture or two of our Evo X gauge install.

I think this is a clean looking spot and you can tuck the wires in pretty well.

Please excuse the blur, this picture was taken really quick. As you can see, there are a few wires hanging out but it's not horrible. Some wire loom will neaten it up a bit.

IMHO, that is not where any gauge should be mounted. You have just slapped a gauge on the dash of a $40,000 car, and it looks awful. Why are people doing this? Is it just me who thinks this is ridiculous? What's next a 5" monster tach?

That is how some people like to mount their gauges. How do people in Canada mount their gauges eh?

Not quite like that. But if that's the place you want a gauge, so be it.

I'd show you how I mounted the gauges in my X, but I put my car in the igloo until winter's over, eh.

IMHO opinion, where do you think the gauge should be mounted? $40,000 car or $400,000 dollar car, this is race car, is it not? There were no holes drilled in the dash, i provided a gauge holder to fit perfectly in the cracks of the vent provided with the car. It can easily be removed elsewhere if i decide there is a better location in the future.

Looks pretty clean (especially compared to some I've seen) and it seems to be a convenient place for you.

I like Noize's placement a hair better though:

I was bouncing between that location as well. I must admit, it is easier to monitor and looks a tad cleaner. The good news is that nothing is permanent and that is why i shared my mounting location with everyone to see what works, and what is clean and convenient.

I try to keep all of the gauges in one place...around the cluster area. Not flaming you or anything, but this isn't my cup of tea. Looks a bit "tacked on". I like to go for the more finished look, but as you stated earlier this is probably just temporary.
