Any previous 06-07 SI owners here
I like to know how does everybody feel driving the turbo AWD X around
I had fun with the SI, high revs, handling BUT it was upsetting that they couldn't got any K-pro or HONDATA or something and bolt-ons only gave 5-10whp
i beleive the car is fster 1 sec than a civic dx manual 0-60 lolGuys on civic 8th are going crazy spending some good amount of money 7-8K
X has power (puts you back in the seat), i love the brakes and trbo spool
I wish it had the 6th gear for highway but not something i can't live without.
Other thing i didn't particularly liked was that they made the X bigger spacious than previous evos so its not a pocket rocket and its huge compared to the si.
The thing i love most is there is tons of after market support, bolt-ons
Anyway just wanted to hear from other si owners what they think of X

I like it so far, though I'm still 100 miles or so from being broken in. I've taken, without even thinking, turns the Si couldn't even dream of sticking. I'm in the middle of a turn, look at the speedo, and think "holy s****, the Si would be in the grass by now"! To the X it's like it's just another day.
I don't miss the anemic acceleration when under 5.5k RPM and the struggle on the track to keep it above that RPM range at all costs. It's a very challenging car to drive quickly. I don't miss the poor DBW setup that caused RPMs to just hang there after every shift, probably causing premature clutch wear. And I don't miss the huge A pillar that made the entire front corner of the car invisible to the driver. I do miss 6th gear, the digital speedo right up by the windshield, the nicer interior, steering wheel audio controls, and the shifter feel.
Someone in another thread commented they were surprised anyone liked a Civic, but I think it's a pretty natural progression. The Si is a great car at $20k, just as the X is a great car at $30k. Sure, the Si can't compete with the X, but it's not meant to. The Evo/STI are probably common choices of former Si owners who have seen income increases. I know I've seen at least 3 others on here.

I currentley have a 2006 civic si And I agree with everyones feeling on the si. It is a good car and even better than the x in some respects. however as a whole the evo is just at a bigger better faster beast.

This holds true if you like driving cars it's the only real option other than the wrx for sombady graduating from a si.
I plan on getting a x soon maybe form shahulx when we can talk

I went to the dealer and they were only going to give me 12k for my 06 SI fully loaded HFP 18" wheels, XM and HFP ground effects 52k miles. Only lacking NAVI. I'm waiting another month or two and selling it private so I can get my X.
I miss that car in some aspects
