it smells like clutch cuz you are being too hard on it. I say ur clutch doesnt last past 3k miles if you keep doing what ur doing.

I really don't know. If you're going to be doing a lot of hard launches then be prepared to replace clutches and T-Cases. IMO, the Evo (and most AWD cars) really weren't designed with drag racing in mind. Sure you see a lot of drag Evos...but I'd be willing to bet that the owners will tell you that they are replacing parts constantly.

Yeah I'd never drop the clutch on any car, it really effects the car esp. if you keep launching "day in and day out". Just a little advise, Drive a fast car slow and a slow car fast!

all evos taper off boost up top, nothing is wrong with that. to fix it you can do a few things. mbc or ebc, upgrade your internal wastege actuator, or just go to a external wastegate. thats how you get rid of the boost taper

oh and the best way to launch would be to let the rpms bounce off the 2 step. if you had a boost gauge you would see that you dont build boost holding the rpms at a steady rpm, but when its bouncing off the 2 step you will build boost. boost = power
